Avram Grant
Hey guys, first time poster here. What do you guys think about Avram Grant as manager for Canada? Sack Mitchell now, and bring in someone has some brains, or in this case, at least someone who looks like he enjoys eating them. Thoughts?
Juby
Mitchell has to fail at something before we think about firing him, and so far he's done alright, some bad results, some good results, he has got us playing some good attacking football too. and I feel the need to say something I always say when we talk about new managers, La Volpe! edit, I just reread avram's post, you do realize brains can also mean something else here and technically your post has him... no, no, I'm just gonna stop here, awkward.... Grizzly
If we are going to replace Mitchell we should replace him with a better manager not a worse one.
Keano
Bad post title, it sounds like a real rumor.

Not so sure about that. Given Grant has given all the resources in the world while Mitchell was given percisely nothing, but i've seen nothing to inspire confidence out of DM. One win away from both a league and CL title, was Chelsea really that good on paper where nobody should have beat them( or in this case only Manu by a slim margin of penalities and goal differential). It took some managerial gusto to get to that point (regardless of what you want to say about the team`s performance or John Terry being the defaco coach). I don`t think this can even be considered close to fair comparison. A media that ran with a story has clouded people`s perception of Grant. Thank being said, this might as well be discussing Jose Mourinho or Luciano Spaletti because there is no way in hell a named manager ever comes here. We wouldn`t even pay a 10th of the amount it would cost to hire these guys in the form of Rene Simoes.
Loud Mouth Soup
Grant has already signed in Greece, I believe.
superbrad
Despite the WCQ record - I like the idea of having a Canadian being the Canada Manager. Mitchell has re-branded our game and I like that. I hated when Lenarduzzi had guys like Peschsolido hanging bank for a 0 - 0 tie, but i think those days are done. I agree with Juby - Mitchell needs to fail before we replace him. Let's see how he "manages" the squad in these upcoming WC qualifiers before we sack him. The other thing to consider - I hate seeing countries hiring these other nationals to manage the teams. The coach is an integral part of the team. He makes the player decisions and dictates the style of game. I look at a coach like Scolari and think he is partially a wh**re. Yes he wants to win but its hardly the same as a guy who has the national flag tatooed on his a$$.
superbrad
On that note.....if necessary Craig Forrest is my choice for the next coach....(and to receive the Order of Canada)....
