CANADA vs Honduras

World Cup Qualifying

September 6, Stade Saputo, Montreal

Tickets go on sale July 14 at 9AM Eastern via Admission.

The Voyageurs will have sections 114, 117, and 217. This is a total of 1521 seats. The Voyageurs sections are designated as supporter sections and will only be accessible by code.

Only Mastercard and Visa are accepted by Admission.

Tickets will be $20 for single tickets and $15 for group purchases of 15 or more.

Large group purchases will have to be verified by yours truly. For example, if someone is planning to purchase 40 tickets for any of these three sections, drop me a line and let me know. I will then give Admission the green light. This will assist in filtering out large groups of the enemy in our sections. Obviously it should be purchased by someone that is a Voyageur, or can be verified as a Canadian fan by one of the club supporter groups.

Once the green light has been given on a large order, the order will have to be processed via the phone.

The code will be released on Sunday.

alright awesome, thanks for the hard work Fury.

So to remind everyone, here is the seating chart:

http://www.admission.com/images/maps/admission/StadeSaputo.png

we'll have 114 - that will sell out first

then we can get 117 and 217. Those seats are for sure close enough to chant together with 114.

Then I assume we should buy up 115 and 116. (or should we let those section be caught in the crossfire...?)

Great! Can't wait to finally buy these tickets!

As for 115 and 116, if we sell out the other 3 sections, I say we fill those up. I don't know where we would go after 117 and 217 if not those two sections, but I think we should try to remain relatively as close as possible. The south side sections are close enough to 114 to not be a problem, but go further, and I don't know how well it would go.

Why 117?!?

113 and 115 woud make more sense, don't you think?

I requested 115. We had people in that section last match.

Not sure why we ended up with 117, but it doesn't look that bad.

I was just glad to get this confirmed. We can't get these at the last minute, there's just too much networking & planning to do.

hopefully montreal comes out in force , however i dont think it will be as good a turnout as can vg jam at bmo

You may be right, but it's also a smaller stadium. Montreal has a huge latin community, so the Hondurans will be out in force.

Make sure you book time for Bar 99, pre-game and post game.

WF,

first I would like to say thank-you for all the work you are doing. It is very much appreciated. I would, however, like to make a few suggestions about buying strategies and protecting the code from the Honduran equivalents of Canada 3000.

1) I know that the V's warchest is being stretched with the scarf order and plans for new flags/banners, but if there are no volunteers to make a MASSIVE ticket purchase (~300 - atleast 100 for both 114 and 117) during the first minute of the sale, then perhaps V money could be used to create space on someone's credit card for a massive purchase if that is needed.

2) Regardless of who makes the buy (I can't - sorry), there should be large purchases in the first minute of the sale that locks up atleast the first three rows of each section. These are the most important for noise projection, camera time, chant leading, and securing banner space. You will want proven Voyageurs in the first three rows of each section.

3) Concentrating on 114 first is the wrong strategy. You are putting too much into one basket and therefore reducing the quality and quantity of supporters in 117. I think 217 is less important (after the first three rows are secure), but 117 and 114 should be treated equally. You want to be able to "sandwich" any Honduran fans in the middle and use the strong presence to encourage casual Canadian fans there to join in.

4) If Vs are still interested in getting tickets after this promotion, then grabbing seats in the first three rows of 115 and 116 would be helpful. The main thing would be controlling the 116/117 corner and any other corners that can be owned.

5) PROTECT THE CODE!!! I did receive the code in Cheeta's newsletter for the Jamaica game and used it to buy a seat in 104 (Row 10), but I'm not sure if the same process should be used again. I would suggest that Saturday be spent making arrangements with longtime Vs who are able and willing to make large bulk purchases in strategic locations the second the sale starts. Only these people should be given the code initially. After an hour or so into the sale (once the bulk purchases have been made) should the e-mail go out giving the code.

I know this sounds extreme, but if the proven supporters make bulk purchases, and they then only distribute to other proven supporters or known friends, then you have a 100% guarantee that there will not be a single Honduras supporter in the most important spots. At the very least, the e-mail list should be reduced to only include those who have been here for awhile - before the draw for the WCQ group.

I know it's not much, but would it help if I bought 20 tickets at $15 each as soon as the sale begins? I probably won't be able to make it to Mtl, and I would need someone local and trustworthy to distribute the tickets at cost to Cdn fans for me.

Does anyone know if you can pick up tickets purchased through Admission at a Ticketmaster outlet? If I could choose outlet pick up and grab them here, it would be simpler then having them mail them (dicey and occassionally scary) or picking them up in Mtl.

cheers,

matthew

I think both games will sell out so obviously Toronto will have a larger crowd with its larger stadium. The problem that we are going to have in Montreal is that we don't have the size of supporter's groups that TFC has and that a large part of the Impact's fan base are not even really soccer fans. That being said, all this worry about Montreal's latin community is mislaid. The Guatemalans, Costa Ricans etc are all rivals with Honduras and hate them more than we do. If any of them show up for the game they will be cheering against Honduras and thus will be on our side if only by default. While the latin community as a whole is large in Montreal, I doubt the number of Hondurans alone is that high, certainly far, far lower than the number of Jamaicans in Toronto. What we will have to worry about is large groups of Hondurans from cities like New York, Boston and Toronto buying tickets in bulk and coming for the game. Considering even St. V&G was able to get 250 to 300 supporters here probably very few of whom lived in Montreal imagine how much the Hondurans could get if they are organized. Thus it is very important that we try to buy as many tickets as possible before they go on general sale. The CSA really needs to get the word out to regular soccer fans in Montreal that a WCQ game is taking place.

I also find it absolutely shocking that TFC is playing on this date. It is simply amazing that MLS does not respect international dates but especially WCQ international dates. It is even more offensive that they are actually playing a match on the same day in the same country as a national team qualifier. Can anyone imagine ManU or Bayern playing even a friendly on the same day that England/Germany are playing a WCQ match? FIFA should really punish MLS for this type of behaviour.

You could not be more correct on this one. It is nothing less than an insult.

Once these next two games are over, I think we should make some serious, organized noise about this.
