Richard
Can't get 'a stadia' built ?? Seems Trillium has some attention deficit issues and missed my post above: "I have said I enjoy the atmosphere created by singing and chanting fans waving flags and banners and I don't like it when the PA announcer insists on playing six second snatches of music during the game." What do you not understand about that statement, I even kept it to words with no more than three syllables? And I would love to get complimentary gold tickets to Whitecaps MLS games when they finally happen, wouldn't you!

Richard I said Golden Age, not Gold tickets, but hey whose worried..as to your much and often stated statement I like the atmosphere etc.. so why are you not speaking to your buds at the Whitecaps and getting the Rap music snatches cancelled, and encouraging flags and Banners all over the stadia ? I stand by my suppostions about you Richard you really want a nice quite spot in the sun to watch the game, you not into its passions your into the flat of the experience not the highs and lows with your mates.. do you have mates ? The kind of guys you go out and have beers at the game with ..and let off a little steam ? Nope ? Yes ? Let us know, it would be revealing to see you all passioned up for a Whitecaps match. Or a Canada match.
Richard
^ The twist to gold tickets was a deliberate play on your words and I have spoken to the club about music during the game many times. I trust you have noticed there is not much of it any more during men's games but for the women's games I am afraid music detractors are very much in the minority amongst the paying public I am told. And yes I enjoy games with atmosphere and I have plenty of mates with whom I enjoy a convivial drink from time to time. Indeed I am off to enjoy a few over soccer tonight for a couple of hours. Try visiting www.bcsoccerweb.com and click on the 'About' tab so you can learn some facts rather than rely on supposition. Oh, and usually when I am at Whitecaps or national team games I am working, not a lot of time to socialise.

Is taking photos for BC Soccer Web considered "working"? Then perhaps the Southsiders chanting away for 90 minutes should be considered "working" as well. Especially considering we have no voice for the next 2-3 days. I reckon we "workers" form a union and get some CUPE thugs to get those Limited Edition Security goons away from us! Richard
Considering a lot of people make a living as professional photographers, yes, it is working... especially as it is only one of many assignments I work. You should try it yourself for a while before demeaning the work factor.

Blue and White Army
I was under the impression that the Whitecaps paid Josh Devins to take photos, Richard. Are you suggesting that they pay you as well?
Richard
I have no idea what the arrangement is between the Whitecaps and Josh Devins, none of my business, ask Josh. I am not in any way suggesting the Whitecaps pay me or any photographers or journalists from other media outlets or TV camera crews from Global or CTV etc. And no, I do not do kids birthdays. Sam
quote:Originally posted by Blue and White Army And let's add no standing, singing or making any kind of noise. Voila! You have the Vancouver Public Library. dammit, if only you guys lived in St.Vincent, you could go to Phillip's Bakery at half-time... In all seriousness comparing Toronto supporters to Montreal or Vancouver supporters is crazy, because for the most part TFC management worked with the RPB, U-Sector and NEE to create a good environment, and let the supporters throw streamers, swear and do what they like as they help promote the team by creating a good atmosphere. In Montreal and Vancouver the problems this year with the supporters, have nothing to do with the supporters being 'juvenile', but with their respective managements not allowing the supporters to create a good atmosphere.
