please sign up (as i am just trying to find out how many people are interested) for a same day bus trip to montreal september 6th. i will try to get the bus to depart around 1pm on saturday arrive in montreal around 6ish take in a few beers and some food, watch the match at 8pm and then board the bus around 10:30pm to get back in the city around 3:30am.

i think the yorkdale pick up/drop off works for most people.

as some supporters are in kingston and would be interested in joining us, we will make a quick 15 minute washroom/food break and then head back out on the road. (same on the way back)

please post your name here and i will update the list as we go.

the cost will be about $100 which will include the bus ride there and back (with washroom and air) the game ticket and a 3' x 5' canadian flag.

one more thing, i will likely have to book this bus by mid july so i am putting a end date to the list on sunday july 20th

and i will need ****NOTE*** FULL PAYMENT FOR THIS TRIP BY SUNDAY JULY 27th!!!

however, if we don't have at least 40 people interested, i will likely not move forward with this.

Just a hint of advice, get the bus to leave A LOT earlier than 1pm.

11am should be the ideal time for the bus to leave Toronto, as you need to take into account any added time for slow traffic, a food stop and the fact that a bus will not go as fast as regular traffic.

Take it from someone who has organized three bus trips this year alone (including one to Montreal).

perfect - thanks bro. and thank you rudi for your advice. i was originally thinking a 101-11am start but the bus driver can only legally work a 14 hour shift without someone else coming out there and taking over. anyway, i will get the logistics worked out and update everyone once we have a decent amount of people on the list.

Hodgkiss, pay for the 2nd driver. Your drivers will really appreciate it, your passengers will appreciate a longer mid-point stop, and you shouldn't have to pay _too_ much more for the second driver on a single day trip. Then you're not rushing to and from the game, and you won't get stranded in Oshawa when the 14 hours runs out unexpectedly. (And remember - the driver's shift starts at the bus garage, not when you leave Yorkdale. I don't see how you can run w/ a single driver, but I don't know the rules regarding standby-time when the bus is parked at the stadium.)

Anyways, how will your passengers be able to join the other V's at the pre-game bar if you don't arrive until 7 PM? :)

Is the interest so sparse because of the TFC game that day? Because the St.V&G trip filled up quickly and the Honduras match is going to be much more important. So Torontonians - sign up!!!!

My name is tentatively on the list, as I will need some more details on the proposed bus trip - cost, lunch stop, departure time, and the like. When everything is iron-clad, I'll gladly pay up quickly.

With regard to departure time, I would aim to leave T.O. no later than 10 a.m. Otherwise, we may be tight for time at the bar.

there's a tfc game that day and it's a long weekend... which is why i want to see who is interested because i have a feeling most tfc supporters will be at bmo. kinda blows really cuz we'll need as much support as we can get. and country should come before club.

I'm hoping that the RPBs that are hardcore Canadian supporters - i.e. the guys who travelled by van for the St. Vincent game - will weigh the importance of this qualifier against what will be just another league match for TFC. I also have TFC tickets for that game, but I would gladly sell them and make the bus trip to Montreal. TFC league matches come and go, but WCQers only come about every four years.

Might I also suggest you give yourself enough time to visit Bar 99 for the pre-game festivities. It's only a 10 minute walk from Stade Saputo.

Meet some of the other Voyageurs from across Canada. It was the icing on the cake for my evening and really completes the package.

well i took my honda fit last time and we spilt the gas 4 ways which was almost $100 and i know my van is about double that so $200/4 = $50 plus game ticket is about $65.

for an extra $30 or so, you can relax and enjoy without any worries at all.

the whole reason that i wanted to take the bus to the svg match was so that i didn't have to drive. and when we all arrived and we were told that we had vans and they were looking for drivers, i thought well if i have to drive anyway, i'm taking my car...

obviously if we fill the bus, the price will probably be less. and maybe i can even handle a round at the bar for all bus riders...

anyway, we're gonna need a whole bunch more people than what we have thats for sure...

I don't know about you, but haven't been able to access the USector web site over the last couple of days. Is the site down?

usector.ca has been re-routed directly to the message board while the web site issues are cleared up.

The board has been running continuously.
