Preparation Games

Recommended Posts

Canada should start planning for the qualifiers by playing games with:

USA, Paraguay, Chile or Colombia to prepare for Mexico

Guatemala, El Salvador or Costa Rica to prepare for Honduras

Venezuela, Haiti or Trinidad & Tobago to prepare for Jamaica

The opposition suggested are not identical teams, but they have similar styles or quality, athleticism and physicality to the real opponents.

These can be mutually beneficial fixtures that can be cost shared or sponsored in order to save costs. Of course, we don't know if these teams will benefit from playing us, but the CSA must ask the question quickly.

By the way we have only played twice in Canada in the last 12 months. We have had a total of 15 fixtures...

We should not have any friendlies with the US until we have played them in an official match, our players will be extra motivated next time we play the americans and we do not want to waste that on a friendly.

no FIFA date means no friendlies :(

Hell if they have 2 weeks of prep time I'd be happy.

I agree w/ Juby. Better not to play the Gringos until the official qualifier. You know the boys in red will want revenge.

Yup.

It wouldn't surprise me if over 75% of our squad have an official club game the weekend before the Jamaica match. It will be pretty difficult to get most clubs to release their players early.
