How much can you blame lack of scoring (Montreal's big problem right now) on a coach? It's not like he's playing Lilleyball. They are attacking and getting plenty of good quality chances they just can't finish. They aren't getting blown out by 2 or 4 goals every other game so defensively they are doing good.

I don't think another coach will solve the finishing problem. I don't know what will.

I agree with tmcmurph. I watched the last league match against Portland and the last cup match against Toronto. I thought the TFC match was fairly even, but yes, they couldn't put the ball in the back of the net. In the league match, they completely dominated Portland. I think it's just a run of bad luck that may sort itself before long. I think it's a bit early to put the head of NDS on a spike.

tmcmurph and Tintin,

in De Santis' system (if there's one), there is a lack of cohesion between midfielders and strikers. That is THE problem. When a striker is left alone to attack, he can't succeed that much.

Also, players are fed up with De Santis (Remember last in November when he said he would change? He DIDN'T!).

We have had problems scoring every year DeSantis has been our coach and that is no coincidence. Factor in that we have probably had the highest player budget in the league in most of these years and that is clearly unacceptable. DeSantis is clueless as a coach and is disliked by the players. The Ultras have been chanting for him to resign. The only guy who likes him is Saputo. I thought he was gone after the Portland game but surely if we lose to Miami he must be finished.

I'm in Vancouver, and saw a pretty even game against Toronto, and the league game I saw against Portland, Montréal were all over Portland and had about 20 shots, but just couldn't bury them. Maybe that match was a one off, but Montréal sure looked good that night.

Having said that, I have only seen those two matches and I didn't know that NDS doesn't get along with the players. No wonder they're not scoring. Thank you for passing the information along.

Yes we have looked good in all three of our home games this year yet we have lost two of them and tied one and have not scored a goal yet at home. We have a 2-5-1 record this year in the USL and are in 9th place out of 11 teams despite having one of the biggest player budgets in the league. The aim of the game is to win not to look good losing.

20 shots and no goals isn't a coaching problem but if as you say the players are fed up with NDS then either Saputo replaces the players or the coach. One is always easier than 11. I was not aware of the discord between players and coach (I follow the Caps closer).

7 points out of a possible 27

5 goals on the season.

When you look at an overview of the season, it's more than the players.

Well another goaless draw, another game without a goal. Useless, useless, f***ing useless. NDS OUT NOW.... What was he thinking putting on a player like Lesage who is clearly not suited for the USL. He was completely out of his depth. If this was NDS idea of replacing one useless player (Barnett) with another in the vain hopes that this will solve the scoring drought, then this guy has clearly lost the f***ing plot.

"The Impact has once again dominated their opponent in shots, 15-7". At the start of the season Vancouver had problems finding the back of the net. Montreal is really struggling at finishing to say the least.

In the last 2 games they have had 35 shots and zero goals? That is astounding.

Charleston is up next twice so they better find a solution to their problem and quickly. It would be a nice time for the Impact to find their goal scoring touch and break out of this slump!

The time is now for change, and the change needed is a new coach.

All this guy does is scream his head off. Can we get someone in with vision and a track record? Especially if the Impact aspires to get into the MLS...the team with the best players don't always win and Montreal has been singing this song all season long.

It's obvious the approach NDS is using is no longer working. Offer Nick an office job and Joey, callup your friend George in Liverpool for some contacts. Here to hoping he already did...

Ps. fans need to show up to the next match with paper bags over there heads.

I'm worried that Nick is too much a part of the "Family" to be fired.

Exactly the case. Another owner would have fired him after last season but at the very least several games ago. I just went to Impact's website to look for the hoped for anouncement of his firing and what do I see, they have hired another assistent coach to help him. WTF. Will we have to lose every game this season before he gets fired?
