Pawel
Canada looks good, they are playing themselves out of danger, not just hoofing it down field. Ref so far has been fair too.

Massive Attack
FK for Canada. Rickets heads the FK towards the keeper who is forced to make a save. The ensuing corner sucks, just like the first corner we had. Then Mexico goes on a break but it amounts to nothing.
Ivan
I think JDG is right about Ornoch. Good skills for a big man. Jakovic looks good too. Very confident on the ball. Conversely, Kambere is struggling. Seems he gives the ball away every possession.

canucker
Nice chance off the free kick. We are really missing some speed tonight defensively.

Falcon
Ricketts needs to be more unselfish, he's trying to dribble past the Mexicans...it ain't happening.
Lomonty
Ricketts is guilty of holding on to the ball too long, he's finding space but he's gotta figure's hes not gonna break 4 mexicans down. Kambere is struggling moving the ball up the wing and left his line out to dry on that penalty
Duane Rollins1555362254
The play in the final third for Canada is really telling. We've had a couple good chances at the top of the 18, but the Mexicans are able to aggressively close with little consequence--we don't have the skill players to beat the defenders on a 1-on-1, or to do much more than blast it towards goal and hope...as is often the case at the younger age groups, we look best off set pieces when we can use our height and physical advantage. 45th min...still 1-

canucker
1-1 halftime. Hopefully Diaz Kamebere gets subbed out, he isn't looking too good out there.
Gian-Luca
Very impressed by Jakovic in that first half - this kid can play. He's an NCAA player so I expect him to be completely ignored by Mo Johnston in next year's draft. And Ornoch is the real deal. The lads are playing well, and the skill level is there, it's the lack of cohesion from minimal prep that's killing us, but we knew that would be the case. Duane Rollins1555362254
quote:Originally posted by denis Who's playing leftback again. He hasn't compleated a pass yet Agreed. We look vulnerable on the left. All and all...not bad. Keep in mind that Mexico will be a Gold medal contender in China...

This is why I thought we might see Lensky slide to the leftback...we're not exactly flush with left sided players.

Lomonty
Positive first half, unlucky were still not up by a goal, the lads look composed for the most part. Ornoch needs somebody in the hole below Johnson or Gyaki maybe?
Gian-Luca
Ricketts is looking good one on one but not one on four. He needs to learn to pass the ball a bit more. Didn't see that much from Lensky although he did have one or two nice moments.
