Not a double header. TFC on the 21. Canada on the 22. The option is in brackets on the CSA website.

It would suck for (a few) Impact fans, and it would be poor to play at the same time as a club team, but the best bet is probably Toronto on the 22.

As a Kingstonian I can say I doubt they'd play any more games here, because they recently had some u-20 games here and both vs. the US and both drew small attendances. One little side note about the CSA's incompetence on this though is that the friendly against the US in 2006 was on the same day as the World Cup Final- talk about a scheduling error.

Plus the 2007 friendly was up against both the deciding game of Stanley Cup final and the opening game of the Gold Cup.

^ good idea....tough financial committment for me though. I can't fron the money a 2nd time because my wife's maternity leave is ending soon so we'll be down to 1 income for a while. If I had enough people pre-pay, I'd do it in a hearbeat.

One would hope that after this weekend, with all the results from the first round coming in, that the venue would have to be announced in order to solidfy the entire schedule. Still, we will likely hear about it first from the SVG association page (i.e. roster for Estonia game)

3-Suggest that the best efforts should not be put on qualifying and that it would be better if we fail.

If this is in relation to something I have said, you have over simplified what I meant.

To reiterate: if we make it with the current crop of talented players (an anomaly, rather than a product of CSA development programs) then we will find our selves in the same wilderness that we have been in for the past 20+ years. It is my strong belief that the CSA will take credit and the public at large will not be want to criticize the CSA as they will not know better. Calls for change will fall on deaf ears, the CSA will take credit and nothing will change.

Therefore, I think it is better to tear down and re-build for continued success rather than a one-off at the next WC followed by another 20 year absence. I just do feel that qualifying for the world cup is not the panacea for Canadian soccer that it is perceived to be. I also understand why people take issue with this idea. Fair enough.

This is just my opinion, you don't have to agree with it. I think it would be fairer to say:

"3-That qualifying for the WC may end up doing more longterm harm than good"

No I wasn't thinking of you or anything that you may have said at the time of my post.

But to get slight off topic and more in line with your post, I am not so sure that if we would be better off in 2014 or 2018. You need only look at how we played and fared in each of the last two U20 WC's as well as the recent Olympic qualifying ( if you are to judge the recent olympic qualifying effort on artistic and style point).

Bottom line if we don't make it in 2010, it looks very grim for 2014 and 2018 unless some miracle happens with academy players. There is currently a core that is attaining their peak performance ages ( eg.: DeGuzman, Dero, Atiba) this time around. And I don't see anything anywhere near comparable to that in the last Olympic qualifying effort and the last two U20's.

So to those who make the silly suggestion that that by making the structural moves and coup now, there could be payoff if we sacrifice 2010, I say wheres the evidence and were is the talent for futures efforts. Isn't talent what its ultimately all about? As I said before, this game is still won and lost on the pitch by whoever can field better talent. All that BS talk about the national body is irrelevant, if you don't have the horses ( AKA talent )to compete.

I think this was the only compromise they could get.

I'm happy with the location and will surely attend this game. Too bad for the people in Toronto are as they will have, like G-L, to take a day off or at least the afternoon to get in time for the game.
