just re-watched the costa rica game and a few other highlights and am starting to waver in my confidence in Hainault - he has made a lot of dodgy plays in his most recent games for canada and with him not potentially sitting on the bench for the rest of the season at club level (gawd, lets hope not)...i love Hainault's overall skill package and that he is playing CB naturally, but wonder if Serioux, who looked strong and pretty relaxed back there vs CR and who offers so much to the offense with his throws, should also get a shot at his spot.

tough, tough choices ahead for Mitch

odd, i also just re watched the costa rica and south africa games and noticed the same thing. serioux looked excellent back there. unless he becomes a fixture for sparta, young hainault should be on the bench for the wcq semis.

brennan looked real good at lb too, but id still like to see klukowski get another full game. i dont think he had his best game in south africa, what with his balls getting stomped and all. dejong is not near their level imo (but will surpass both in a few yrs).

my 18:

friend (occean)

dero deguz hutch radz (simpson nakajima)

imhof (bernier)

kluk serioux mckenna stalteri (hastings brennan)

hirsch (stama)

i felt the same after south africa, but met resistance when i mentioned it here....why would he be sitting on the bench for the rest of the season?...did i miss something?

Hainault was on the bench again (come in as a sub the game before)today for Sparta. Great for his future that he has moved to a big club, but not so great in the short-term for his chances at starting for the MNT if he's not playing regularly. IMHO, even a sure-fire starter like Stalteri was at risk of losing his position if he had continued in that wasteland position at Spurs. We need to have all of our guys playing and playing well regularly at club level to have a decent chance come WCQ.

To be fair, he appeared regularly during Sparta's winter break exhibition games. I'm thinking once he gets into a starter spot, he'll keep it.

Great looking roster. I think every decent formation has been covered except a very atacking 4-3-3.

If so I would go:

------------Hirschfeld-------------

Stalteri--McKenna--Hastings--DeJong

--Deguzman-----Imhoff----Hutchinson

--Radzinski-----Friend-------Dero

I see why formation selection is such an issue for our coaches. Most if not all of our players an play in so many different places. We just need to find the best way forward.
