RS
I just read that tonight's Soccer Show on The Fan 590 will feature none other than Bobby De Guzman. This could get very interesting if true. http://fan590.com

Massive Attack
quote:Originally posted by Winnipeg Fury ???? “I’m glad Jonathan appears to be on the verge of deciding not to play for Canada,” said the de Guzman patriarch Bobby. “Definitely - I am ready for all the nationalists and I know they will pounce on this - just remember that before you do there is also Jonathan’s brother Julian. He is one of the leaders of the national team and its top player so If you want to go after Jonathan and say he is unpatriotic - you are going after Julian as well. Julian is one of the leaders of the national team.” http://tinyurl.com/27oen5

That, and the attempt to use his other son as some kind of shield for how Jonathan made his decision (& his own moronic comments) says it all. Ian Kennett
A question for Mr. B. De Guzman. Sir, do you not think that had Jonothan opted to play for Canada, the chances that BOTH of your sons would make it to the World Cup would have vastly improved? I mean, the two De Guzmans in the Canadian midlfield along with De Rosario and Hutchinson would have been the best in CONCACAF. It is interesting that you say that you are glad that your younger son is not choosing Canada. What a slap in the face of Julian! And Julian, you are greatly supported by Canadian soccer fans, and we wish you the very best! We are prouf of you!

Winnipeg Fury
Judas de Guzman........ Bobby de Guzman doesn't like it........Julian de Guzman doesn't like it............ Tough sh*t. I could care less what Judas and daddy think. Julian is a professional.....he can deal with it any way he wants and will hardly be surprised that we are pissed........ None of this is directed at Julian, and that is obvious. If daddy wants to use Julian as a threat , daddy is a total scum-bag.
Soju
'So when so called "patriots" turn themselves to the discussion of Jonathan de Guzman and curse and swear - and hum and hah - that he is playing for Holland instead of Canada - you may want to reconsider hear the advice of Bobby de Guzman to his son. “Do what is best for you Jono and have no regrets when you make your decision”' Peter Mallett, what a hilarious hack. Let's get some people to write articles on this who actually have some vested interest in the national team, like maybe a tea cup's worth of national pride. Wrote that article straight out of Bobby deGuzman's mouth. Dumb ass.
VPjr
The Fan590 is broadcasting a 2 hour soccer call in show today called Sunday Soccer with Luke Wileman and Nigel Reed. You can listen online at www.fan590.com and click LISTEN LIVE. Pretty good so far. Not just EPL talk, if that's what anyone is worried about. They want to hear from fans how they feel about Jono choosing Holland The show runs until 2:30pm email questions to nigel@fan590.com

The CSA bashers and reformers are piling on this 1st Sunday show. Totally forgot and missed the 1st hour or so. Kinda like it. If given a chance I think they can make a go of this time slot. Oh hey! The Return of JohnTV!
VPjr
quote:Originally posted by Cheeta Oh hey! The Return of JohnTV! I heard that too. He had only 20 seconds of air time and I knew right away that it was John. I thought the show was a smashing success. With 30 minutes left, they had 5 or 6 people on hold wanting to get on the air. it clearly picked up momentum as the show progressed. good work Nigel and Luke and hopefully Nelson Millman (program director at the Fan590) was pleased and gives them another go the next time the Raptors don't have a Sunday afternoon game.
