Footscray
Steaua Bucharest may be trying to sign Jaime Peters on loan until the end of the year. It's probably the biggest club in Romania. Dunno about the credibility of the source. Based on the playing time he's got this year it probably has to be a good move but one has to wonder about the tractor boys eye for talent if a Champions League team has interest in him while he rides pine at Portman Road. Kid has just gotta get some playing time at this point IMO. http://www.fansfc.com/ipswichfootballclub/news.asp?newsid=179706
jonovision
I think almost any move is a good move as far as Peters is concerned.
Footscray
I think his game would fit particularly well in the Dutch league with the "defending" there - sorry to any Marcel de Jong fans.
Obinna
A lone out to a CL side would be surely be benificial, even if it is in Romania. I would prefer a move back to the Bundesliga though, perhaps to a mid-table team? ...He could drag Staltari along with him.
Sam
Would he play every week with Steaua, because they are a CL team which would be fantastic for Peters if he was playing.

Guest Can. in UK
Apparently he's turned the deal down but he is definitely available for loan. http://www.clubfanzine.com/ipswich_town/showNews.php?id=7967 "Magilton has also confirmed that, as expected, Jaime Peters is not interested in a loan move to Steaua Bucharest on loan. The Town manager says conversations are continuing regarding a number of fringe players going out on loan."

Steaua is in every respect a superior club to Ipswich and any success there would really help his career. If he were playing at Ipswich there might be some fear he would be sitting on the bench at Steaua but since he is not this is not a factor. Once again this makes one wonder about Peters commitment to becoming a professional footballer.
youllneverwalkalone
My amateur psychological diagnosis is that this kid is home sick. He hasn't gotten into any trouble per se. The only thing we've heard about him is that he was spending too much time sending email and not enough on the training ground. A loan to TFC is the ideal solution for all parties. Maybe that's what he's holding out for?

Start fan in exile
Peters is a left back, right? He should consider Sweden or Norway - left backs are at a premium, and he could get plenty of playing time. Canadians are popular in both countries. SthMelbRed
Left-back? Right winger.

Peters is right winger but can be effective on the left as well. I would agree that Scandinavia could be a good place for him, surely better than Ipswich at the moment. Is his strength on the wing in a 4-3-3 where he needs to go wide and send crosses into the box or is he better in a 4-4-2 where he would have a wider radius and more defensive responsibilies? SthMelbRed
I think David Edgar plays almost exclusively as a central defender. Maybe you're thinking of Marcel DeJong who plays LB for Roda in Holland? As for Jaime Peters, I doubt that he'll have played much 4-3-3 in the English League Championship. It's generally a 4-4-2 league with the occasional 4-5-1 (not in the attacking sense). Peters is more in the outside midfielder with speed to burn category, I think. A poor man's Aaron Lennon, if you will.
CanadianSwede
Its strange what's happening to Peters. I remember WCQ for 2006 and he looked to be one bright prospect. He was quick and in my opinion one of the most dangerous to score for Canada.

Remember, he's only 20 and he was Ipswich Town's best player over the second half of last season. He'll have plenty of opportunity to come good yet. You never know what could serve as the catalyst for a reemergence. Perhaps a couple of starring cameo appearances off the bench for Canada could get him turned around. Now there's a guy I'd like to see loaned out.

Not to get all technical, but i'm pretty sure Edgar played as a RB in his debut against Bolton and also played at CB in the FA Cup match against Birmingham City. As for Peters, he'd probably be better off in a 4-3-3 playing as the right winger and able to focus on attack instead of having to waste his time on defending. I remember WCQ for 2006 and he looked to be one bright prospect. He was quick and in my opinion one of the most dangerous to score for Canada. You gotta be kidding! He did sweet f* all in qualifying. Waste of a roster spot in 2004. One that could have seen Brennan. A few runs in the 30 minutes he saw in a 2nd half sub appearance in game 1. So poor in game 2 that he was subbed off shortly after subbing in to start the 2nd half (for the even poorer Pesch). Late sub appearance in games 3 (away to CR) and 4 (home to CR). He might have done well in the last game of the semis, which I never saw.
CanadianSwede
No matter if he was subbed Ed, he played well. You must take into consideration as well that he was only 17.
Guest Ed
He did not play well. Had a bit of spark in that first game, but overall did not play well. I know he was 17. He has tons of potential but my point is that he has never played well for us to date, and specifically, I will repeat, did sfa in qualifying for 2006. Ditto in 2007 at the WYC. He needs to move to another club and get his poop together, then maybe we can start talking about what a legend he is.

Guest Ed
Well people are talking about him moving to a Champions League team, a mid-table Bundesliga team, etc. Our top players are rarely considered for moves to such teams and Peters is not one of those. I have a feeling that young Peters doesn't know that though.
