How do you draw this conclusion? The kid is only about 15. He wouldn't be playing in the reserves yet, and likely wouldn't be in the U-18 first team. Regardless, the last link doesn't give a list of all the players in the academy.

YNWA, a couple more updates:

Carlos Rivas Jr. - Municipal Iquique (Chilean Primera B) (2)

MetroChile from BigSoccer found him. He's playing for Jose Sulantay, the Chilean U20 coach. Interesting to note that Sulantay was quoted as saying in a news report that Rivas Sr. gave him some pointers on how to beat Canada at a Chilean-Canadian banquet for the team the eve of the game.

Michael Abusabal - Deportivo Municipal (Peruvian Premier League) (1) Youth

I found some interesting stuff about him. He was born in Lima in '89 and as far back as '97 was playing in Peru. I'm curious to find what his ties to Canada are? He showed up at a camp for 89's run by Stephen Hart in 2004, a number of players on the MOACA from that camp. Anyways, he played at Bolognesi in 2004 and '05, 2006 is unknown, but he last played for Deportivo Municipal last year.

Whoa, how did you come up with that info? I've been checking all the regular peruvian soccer websites and came up with nothing. Too bad he got cut from Bolognesi, his old club, as they are now a top team in Peru and are even in the Libertadores this year.

I started here:

kept looking and found this:

And fished an update:

BTW, there's no confirmation that he's with Dep. Municipal anymore.

Ok, according to that info he was born in Canada. He has steadily dropped from top to mid and now to a lower table peruvian club. Spent some time with Rosario in Argentina but did not sign. Hopefully he continues to work at it and makes it to the first team. I would say his club Depor Muni is about as good as the Impact.

The last source seems to contradict the birthplace from potrero. I think mybestplay was inputed by the player himself, so i'd believe it. His player listing with the U15's showed his hometown as North York. Looks like he also spent time with the NTC in Ontario. He's 5'8", 155lbs. and rates his technique as a "10"!! Has dual Canadian and Peruvian heritage and is working on getting an Italian passport. Would like to play in Argentina or Europe some day.

Ah...

PS

He also said that he thought Joevannie Peart was now in Hungary. I don't have a link or anything but it would be worth looking into (I'll be doing it myself in due course for canucks-abroad.com but I don't know when I'll get to it with the launch coming up).

He play for Lombard-Papa TFC in Hungary NB II.

Now on trial for Bodø/Glimt, Div 1 in Norway.

Thanks, maybe that's why he isn't with the U-23's.
