Grizzly
Thanks to Zak1FCK on Bigsoccer for the heads up. Another Canuck in Germany with Kaiserslautern's reserve team: keeper Zach Kalthoff. According to Kicker there are a few formalities still to deal with but it now seems sure that he will be signing with FCK: http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/oberliga/startseite/artikel/175944

Guest Ed
Oberliga SuedWest, same league Julian started with in Germany with the old Saarbruecken amateurs. Parkbrau territory. Zack was at Southampton a couple of years ago. He's out of Calgary.

He has signed for 1 1/2 years (through 2008-2009 season) as stated in this report from Jan 31, 2008. The U23 team (amateur team) plays in the Oberliga Westfalen. http://www.derwesten.de/nachrichten/sport/lokalsport/bochum/2008/1/31/news-20072570/detail.html
Jason
Saskatoon native Mark Korthuis, formerly of the Calgary Storm, University of Alberta, and the Saskatoon Accelerators is on trial with FC Slovan Liberec in the Czech league. http://www.canada.com/saskatoonstarphoenix/news/sports/story.html?id=25003c2f-7752-45a5-983c-d7619cbeede9 He's definitely come a long way from those days as with the Storm. I wonder if the Accelerators would get a transfer fee if he signs? I'm pretty sure the CMISL could use the money. Jason
trochej
Hi I'm Fabian's Troche dad. Here's some new info regarding Fabian. Fabian was here in Canada for the holidays. He went back to Uruguay with the intention of changing club so he could played more and be part of the starting line up. He learned a lot with Defensor Sporting, rank 20e buy the IFFHS. So he did change. He’s still in the youth program of a first division club. The team is Rampla Jr and his part of the starting line up. Rampla finish 3e in the first half of the season. http://www.rampla.com/ Thanks again.

LUFC
Keegan Ayre has gone on loan to Berwick Rangers(Scottish Second Division.) Apparently this happened on January 25th. http://www.hibernian-mad.co.uk/news/loadnews.asp?cid=TMNW&id=374143 "Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen has allowed youngsters Keegan Ayre and Blair Tolmie to head out on loan for some much needed first team experience. Both players have signed loan contracts with second division side Berwick Rangers until the end of the season and will both be in contention for the relegation strugglers against Raith Rovers at Stark's Park tomorrow." Start fan in exile
Stephen Ademolu has been cut from Tromsø's training camp squad. http://fotball.fvn.no/eliteserien/article100633.ece Coach Steinar Nilsen says this has nothing to do with Ademolu's injury problems - simply that they feel they have 4 strikers better than him in the squad. I guess Ademolu will need to find a new club. The transfer window is open until March 31 in Norway and Sweden.
Guest Ed
As I posted in the Canucks in Germany thread, Maycoll Canizales signed with SC Bonner, Oberliga NordRhein (4th div) over the break. Contract good until the end of the season.
Guest Ed
Add Ryan Gyaki back into the mix with Hansa Rostock. I thought he had been released but he is back with the amateur squad and played in a friendly last week. Should be in the mix this weekend as the Oberliga Nord/NordOst resumes. Here is a portion of a game report dated 18-Feb-2008: F.C. Hansa II: Kronholm - Binder, Freitag, Grundmann (61. Pieper), Dojahn - Pett - Albert, Tüting - Menga - Kocer (61. R.Lange), C.Lange (61. Gyaki)

Guest Ed
It appears that Victor Oppong is now without a club. He was on trial with Oberliga Baden-Wuerttemburg side SG Sonnenhof Großaspach but apparently failed a medical or suffered a re-occurence of an Achilles problem and was not offered a contract. Apparently they will support his rehab though.
Aljarov
I realised you don't have Dylan Hughes on your list. He joined Rhyl in the Welsh league in January on a deal until the end of the season.
