Ipswich Town will play it's FA Cup match on FSW Canada saturday. It's a chance to see DeVos in action and maybe Peters too, but I doubt it.

And, unfortunately, De Vos is out and no Peters either. Begovic on the bench for Portsmouth.

Whats up with De Vos? He didn't mention anything about being injured on the Score yesterday.

My guess would be this is the FA Cup and Ipswich's main goal this year is to get into the Premier League. So they are giving the younger players a chance and resting the better players. Alan Lee did not start as well...

With that,it appears that Jamie Peters has entered the match. Ipswich playing with 10 men and down 1 nil. Jamie playing on the left wing.

I only saw the last 12 minutes and he didn't get the ball much in that time, though he had one nice moment when he beat two players and whipped in a nice cross that almost provided the tying goal. Nice to (literally) see him get some more first-team playing time & against an EPL team to boot.

Thought Peters played pretty well for a guy who hasnt played much in the past few months. Definatly can play at the level and has the speed to kill guys on the wing.

I thought the peters for canada dream was over, but after watching the game i still think he can help the national team in the future

But he wasn't given much opportunity to showcase that part of his game. I watched most of the game from the moment he came on and was hoping that he would get a chance to run at players with the ball at his feet like we saw on occasion in the friendly at BMO against Argentina. I was out of the room when I heard in the background of a close call for an equalizer late in the match. Don't know if he had any part in that

But many of the balls he had to play were not necessarily rolling on the pitch. Therefore, I saw nothing to dispel the notion that he playing in an environment not suited to his attributes ( ie size) and skills.

Peters was decent in his 30 minutes. Immediately upon subbing in, he used his speed to create some problems for the Pompey defender covering him but he never looked overly dangerous if truth be told.

Peters needs to play, just like any 19-20 year old. The more he plays, the better he'll get. I'd rather see him play down a level then sit on the bench at IT.

I'd throw out the idea of him being loaned to TFC if he's not part of IT's short term plans but I'm not entirely convinced he'd play much for TFC in a midfield with Robinson, Edu and O'Brien unless he can be the solution to the problems on the left side of midfield that plagued TFC last season. The one thing he showed me today was decent (not great but decent) ability to make crosses from the left. He struck the ball well on a couple of the corners he took

He dinked the ball around the fullback on one play and tried to outrun him, but was matched for pace. He had a few moments, like the cross already described elsewhere here, but he seemed to get outmuscled too easily in 50/50 situations. Looked like a guy who has played in awhile.

Aside from Peters, that seemed a pretty harsh red card which Trotter received in the first half.

Didn't see the match but Ben Knight had some positive things to say about Peters too.

I think Peters would have a tough time cracking the starting XI for Canada, but he's definitely got the skill to be there in a few years...if he gets playing time in a quality league.

I think he would be a good fit for TFC. He may not be the guy to make the crosses, but he certainly can bring the speed to run at defenders and cause some trouble.
