Here is the draw, 1st leg Feb 20/21, second leg first midweek of March, except on Milan 2nd leg the next week for stadium availability reasons. 2007/08 UEFA Champions League First knockout round Team named first at home in first leg Celtic FC (SCO) v FC Barcelona (ESP) Olympique Lyonnais (FRA) v Manchester United FC (ENG) FC Schalke 04 (GER) v FC Porto (POR) Liverpool FC (ENG) v FC Internazionale Milano (ITA) AS Roma (ITA) v Real Madrid CF (ESP) Arsenal FC (ENG) v AC Milan (ITA) Olympiacos CFP (GRE) v Chelsea FC (ENG) Fenerbahçe SK (TUR) v Sevilla FC (ESP) Toughest draws are Liverpool-Inter and Arsenal-AC Milan. RJB
There are some world-class ties in this round coming up. I'd like to see Lyon knock off Man Utd. Anyone know if this is a tree, or will the teams be redrawn in the Quarter-Finals?
Elias
There's a draw after this round to create the Quarters-Semi-Final bracket.
amacpher
Finally AC Milan get a tough draw! I expect 3 EPL sides to reach the quarters along with all 3 La Liga clubs, Inter Milan and Porto. In recent years this competition has been dominated by teams that had nothing to play for in their domestic leagues late in the season. With that in mind, my prediction for the final is Chelsea v Inter Milan.
Cheeta
Hard to guess what kind of form any of these clubs will have come March. You're probably right but I don't know. Roma and Celtic could both pull off upsets but at this point who knows? The weather is definitely on Celtic's side in March, home and away. VPjr
Here's my best Kreskin imitation: Celtic FC (SCO) v FC Barcelona (ESP) Prediction: Barca, but just barely. Olympique Lyonnais (FRA) v Manchester United FC (ENG) Prediction: ManU in a laugher FC Schalke 04 (GER) v FC Porto (POR) Prediction: Schalke, only because I rate German football more highly Liverpool FC (ENG) v FC Internazionale Milano (ITA) Prediction: Inter wins. They will show that they are one of the top 2 clubs in the world. AS Roma (ITA) v Real Madrid CF (ESP) Prediction: Roma is too inconsistent defensively. Madrid is rounding into form. Real Madrid wins Arsenal FC (ENG) v AC Milan (ITA) Prediction: Milan won't just roll over but Arsenal is too tough. Plus, Dida will find a way to screw up. Olympiacos CFP (GRE) v Chelsea FC (ENG) Predict: I'm predicting a Chelsea defeat. I don't know why, but I feel Roman's team is ripe to be chopped down Fenerbahçe SK (TUR) v Sevilla FC (ESP) Predict: I love turkish fans so I'm cheering for Fenerbache. Sevilla has not overly impressed this season.
