Thanks Sean!

Here's the question I sent for Rob Friend:

Hi Rob, in the last 3 seasons you've played in the Tippeligaen, the dutch Eredivisie and the Bundesliga 2. How do you compare the level of play in those 3 leagues? What are the main differences regarding style of play and tactics?

You sit in the top 3 in scoring in the B2 at the winter break. What do you credit with your almost immediate success in the Bundesliga 2? Is it the midfield talent around you, Oliver Neuville, the system they play, what?

How are you and your wife enjoying living there?

How were you scouted?

Being overseas, I can't watch the Score. I watched the DeGuzman interview on their website, but the format they use is terrible (it is so stop/start and choppy that it took me twenty minutes to watch a five minute interview). Is there a charitable soul here that could post the interview (it's the only bit that I'm interested) on youtube? I'd love you for it.

I second SthMelbRed, is there any way The Score could use a player that allows buffering? The stream is awful and we can't just leave it to buffer for smooth viewing later on like youtube or other flash videos. How can we overseas people make it worth your while to change this? um...we'll click all your ads?

VfB Stuttgart has been rumoured to be interested in Friend. The paper, Sportbild, is not the most reliable source and I can't see Moenchengladbach letting him go but you have to be doing something right even to have rumours written about you transferring to one of Germany's top teams.

I don't know how much push you have on this sean, but it would be great to get stalteri in to talk about the captaincy, and his club plans, since he isn't getting too much time with Tottenham at the moment. Anyways looking forward for tonight.

Never had a problem with the streaming video at all, wierd

When I saw the 1st post complaining about the stream I wrote it off as somebody else's bad luck. Stream has always worked great for me.

Until today.

Missed the show. Need to see it. Fix stream now! (Or get the segments on YouTube, I don't know)

there are definitely problems with the streaming of video on the Score website. VERY CHOPPY. If the JDG interview were not as excellent as it was, I would have quit long before the end because it was so frustrating to watch it "refresh" over and over.

Maybe You Tube is a good alternative.

Good interview but I thought the most interesting part was Paul James comments after the interview when he said that he resigned as the U-20 coach in 2001 over a disagreement with Osieck about Rob Friend. Osieck didn't want PJ to play Rob because he thought he didn't have talent....

Ironic, to the say the least.

I bet now that Friend is playing in Germany he would be Osieck's favourite were he still our coach.:)

Second favourite, after McKenna. ;) To be fair, Osieck's bias

allows only those that play at the highest possible level to have

an automatic inclusion to his MNT selection. If McKenna or Friend

were named, I have no problem with that.

BTW, good interview albeit a phone one from a vacation spot in

California.

I liked how James spoke about Friend's work ethic and his continuing to improve on the technical side of the game, implying that talent alone is not enough (memo to Jaime Peters, anyone?)

You know, I was just wondering, you know, where all the English grammar critics, you know, who criticize Mitchell for saying, you know, uhh, are? You know, shouldn't the grammar and speaking skill, you know, be the thing, you know, by which we judge, you know, all Canadian soccer interviews?:D
