Bertuzzi44
I thought so at the time and still do. No ball, all leg, and brutal force.

redhat
two foot, studs up, aimed for the legs if he "missed" the ball ... red card. But not to our Mexican friend in the early stages of the game.

Soju
Straight red in any league in any match anywhere in the world not involving Canada and Archundia.
Cheeta
Jamit did a post game pod-cast on that match and I remember everyone was still hot and going on about the called back goal but for me it was that challenge going effectively unpunished which really set the alarm bells ringing. The Yanks should have been down to 10 men 20 minutes in but were let off the hook and because of that every judgment which followed was stained with suspicion. Wouldn't have gotten away with a challenge like that in Winnipeg's rough and tumble football in the '80s. Not a chance. You'd be off the grounds so fast your head would be spinning. So how does a latin ref, no stranger to a more gentile form of the beautiful game, in 2007 let that go? Ridicules. Simple ridicules.
loyola
I can excuse both refs for the last second goal, very tough call in the circumstances but this should've been a red.

The Ref
Yes red card, for guilty of serious foul play.

I think when they called that goal back, there were people with furniture in their hands. An ounce more of insanity and we might have destroyed that bar.
