Guest Ed
David Hoillet was in action again yesterday for SC Paderborn reserves. He had 3 or 4 chances in a 1-0 loss. The coach post game said he would have been better off to lay off to another player in a couple of situations but then added that he is just 17 years old. Sounds like he is making quite an impression. Looking forward to seeing how he does in Germany. SC Paderborn, the senior version, managed a 0-0 draw with 1860 Muenchen yesterday in the Bundesliga 2, to help in their climb out of relegation territory. Kevin Mckenna's FC Koeln drop back to 4th place in the Bundesliga 2 following a big win by FSV Mainz 05 today. B2 standings: Tabelle Pl. Verein Sp. g. u. v. Tore Diff. Guest Ed
Riley O'Neill scored a 'dream goal' this past weekend according to press reports on the SV Wilhelmshaven - VfB Luebeck II game in the Oberliga Nord. They are currently on track to promote to the Regional League(s) next season. Also, Eddie Sidra Mahir was once again in action for Energie Cottbus U19's in a 3-1 loss to Eintracht Braunschweig. No sign of Kennedy Owusu-Ansah with either Hertha Berlin's U23's or U19's last weekend. Hansa Rostock's Oberliga Nord/NordOst game from this past weekend has been rescheduled for this Saturdy. The Oberliga Nord/NordOst are then on winter break until late Feb '08. Still two weeks of action left in the Oberliga Nord as Riley O'Neill and SV Wilhelmshaven take on FC St Pauli reserves and Jonathan Bourgault this coming weekend. Guest Ed
He didn't start until October or so as he was badly injured on the last day of the 2006/2007 season. He has 4 goals in 8 games and limited playing time. Late sub in his first game. He then scored in his first two starts, had a 3 game lull, then a goal in the each of the last two games. Guest Ed
Full slate of games this weekend involving Canucks. On Friday in the Bundesliga 2, FSV Mainz 05 host Kevin McKenna and FC Koeln, a straight up battle for 3rd place in the Bundesliga 2 (Koeln trail Mainz by a single point). Also on Friday, Kicker has Jonathan Bourgault starting in the back for FC St. Pauli as they are away to Alemannia Aachen. On Saturday in the top league, VfL Bochum, with Daniel Imhof holding down his starting role in midfield, host SC Karlsruher. On Sunday, in the Bundesliga 1, Hansa Rostock are away to Bayer Leverkusen (Ryan Gyaki not in the 18 players named). Also on Sunday in the Bundesliga 2, FC Kaiserslautern host FC Carl Zeiss Jena, with Josh Simpson starting after his good performance last weekend, Patrice Bernier on the bench. VfL Osnabrueck host 1860 Muenchen, no Nik Ledgerwood who is 1-2 weeks away from game action. Finally on Monday, game of the season so far for Borussia Moenchengladbach as they travel to the Schwarzwald to take on SC Freiburg, who sit just 3 pts behind BM in 2nd place. Rob Friend expected to start.

frank
Josh Simpson also assisted the go ahead goal. After a steal in midfield he passed to Erik Jendrisek and he scored the 1:0. Next week they will visit Cologne. Hopefully Patrice Bernier will be back, so we´ll see 3 Canadians

frank
Josh was the best player for the FCK. He was the only player who tried to brace his feet against the defeat. Was involved in all good actions, from which K´town had a lot in the first period. But his teamates where unable to paraly it. Now they are in deep trouble facing Cologne bevore they are going into the winter break. I fear they will to winter on a relegation spot.

Guest Ed
Nice goal from Friend here. Super game from Neuville setting up all 3 goals but Friend does well (WITH HIS FEET) on this first goal. The win leaves Borussian Moenchengladbach as 'Fall Champions' (HerbstMeisterschaft) regardless of results next weekend (last games before the LONG Christmas break at the season's half way point). http://youtube.com/watch?v=Z-TfRVBPHm8 Friend is now 2nd in the scoring race, with 10 goals (Novakovic with FC Koeln has 14). Guest Ed
Last weekend of games for Bundesliga 1 and 2 as they start their winter break next week. In the Bundesliga 1, Daniel Imhof will likely be on the bench as Hansa Rostock host his club VfL Bochum on Sunday. Captain Zdebel is back and likely to start as holding midfielder in lieu of Daniel. In the Bundesliga 2, Jonathan Bourgault might be with the 18 man FC St Pauli squad as the host FSV Mainz 05 tomorrow. - update - looks like JBB has a knock and may not play this weekend - ed. On Sunday, Rob Friend will start again as Borussia Moenchengladbach host SC Paderborn 07. Nik Ledgerwood still out as 1860 Muenchen host Erzebirge Aue. On Monday, Cdn derby as FC Koeln (Kevin McKenna) host FC Kaiserslautern (Josh Simpson and Patrice Bernier). Going into this weekend, Daniel Imhof's VfL Bochum sit in 11th of 18 in the B1 with 19 points, some 5 points ahead of Hansa Rostock, the team with the most points in relegation territory. In the B2 table, SC Paderborn (who rumour has it will have David Hoillet in action come January 2008) and FC Kaiserslautern are both in relegation territory today. Borussia Moenchengladbach is the fall champion, FC Koeln (2pts out) and 1860 Muenchen (4 pts out) are both chasing promotion spots. FC St Pauli are bottom half of the table, only 3 points ahead of the highest placed team in relegation danger.
