Keano
Forgive me if there is already an older thread for Republic of Ireland fans. If not here's a place we could discuss among other things: -Is Terry Venables right for the job? -If not then who would you like to see rebuild this team? -Which of the old guard must go? -Which of the young lads are ready to impact WCQ? -Is Ireland through after Italy or will Bulgaria pose a real threat? Keano
Graeme Souness has made it clear he would welcome the Scotland or Republic of Ireland jobs but insists he has not been offered either. From BBC.co.uk
canso
Venables is a crook and he's English. Rather see O'Leary in charge. Never been a fan of John O'Shea or Lee Carsley. Liam Miller and Aidan McGeady are ready to take on more of a role, as is Stephen Ireland. Shay Given should be captain. Robbie Keane needs a strike partner and Andy Hunt, Kevin Kilbane and Steven Reid should be the mdifield. Bulgaria are a real threat but the Irish should be good for the playoff spot. Desigol
I believe that there should be 4 Provincial teams for Ulster, Leinster, Munster and Connacht. They will operate the way England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales operated in the UK.

Doyle should be a fitting partner for Keane, if he can show his Premiership form with the international side. If not Long looks promising. Plus Keane has missed Duffer who'll be back. Don't know much about Bulgaria but I can't see anyone else in particular at the world class level other than Petrov and Berbatov, who are arguably better than anyone Irish...but the Irish seem deeper at more positions...
