CanadasBest
I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that most if not all of the upcoming home games will be in Toronto. I would like to go to all the games, but most likely will only be able to attend one traveling home game in 2007. This brings up the point about home game support. We need to get as many Voyageurs as possible to the home games and we need to all be organized and sitting in the same section if possible. Maybe we should organize a National Voyageurs Gathering for the first Toronto Home game of the Semi-Final Round or something like that.
piltdownman
Well as much as I'd like for the games to be shared around the country, I will fly out to toronto for all the games if thats the case. I guess on the bright side, a ticket to Toronto is alot cheaper than Halifax.
Winnipeg Fury
My family and I look forward to attending the June match. I'm assuming it will be in TO, but perhaps they will be charitable with this game and offer it to one of the other sites.
Sam
I could make any games in Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal.
Guest speedmonk42
Well the first we need to to is rig the ticket sales in our favour. If that can't happen, it doesn't matter where the games will be played. If it can happen, then they should all be in Toronto.

Daniel
The everyone-has-a-vote way that the CSA operates makes me believe that there's no chance in hell that the 4 home games (1+3) will take place at BMO, especially when Montreal has built a brand new stadium with natural grass and with no real history of sticking to one site for WCQ. I'd expect something like Vancouver for SVG, then TO-MTL-TO for the semis. Especially because there's NO WAY you get 20k for SVG.

I agree and it would be nice to see a game here even though I'm pretty sure we're cursed. Regardless of any fairness, could there be a worse place outside of Jamaica to face Jamaica than Toronto? Maybe London I guess. Montreal has to get that game and I'd prefer if they got Honduras as well as both of these will be must wins. We need our best Europeans there and on form, meaning we need a natural surface to take six points. I'd be all for Mexico at BMO in October/November with a host of MLS/Scandinavian making the match as unattractive as possible and hoping to steal a point on the field turf. Seven points at home and one or two on the road should see us through. Back to the point of the thread, I'd love attend a Voyageur gathering out east. I think Montreal would be best, but whichever. RS
The U-Sector will be trying to get a dedicated section or two for easy group sales (via a passcode on TicketBastard) to every game in Toronto, so that hardcore Canadian supporters from across the country can join us in a solidified block behind the south goal. We did this for the Canada/Costa Rica friendly and it worked out wonderfully, so hopefully the CSA will work with us again. Of course, once we get any info, we'll pass it on to everyone here. Stay tuned.
Gordon
I expect that the commitment made to MLSE about the number of National Team games held at BMO will result in almost all of Canada's games being played there. The exception I could see is the last game or two of the hex where qualification is at stake at which point the CSA will conclude they have $10 Millions reasons to look at Newfoundland. This does not have to be a negative, but it does mean significant support for the visiting sides (maybe not ST. V & G) at BMO. I will likely attend at least one TO game, but am actively thinking about Mexico and Jamiaca away. No real interest in Honduras...I think Jeffrey's drug dealer friends from Vancouver are planning a convention there lol...actually, I don't think I could afford all three and Honduras rates 3rd of the three in terms of nations I'd want to visit. Would love it if the game were at Azteca as any excuse to return to Cuernevaca would be gladly latched onto. PS While the agreement itself does not specify SMNT, realisitcally, the CSA is not going to pay for BMO to put in youth teams that will likely draw flies. Grizzly
With the current president of the CSA being from Montreal I would expect us to get a game here. The vice-president is from BC which might favour Vancouver getting a game but if so hopefully only the St. V game. The city that would deserve the St. V. game is Kingston who got our highest attendance and most-pro Canada crowd in qualifying for the first Belize game. I would want to see them improve the pitch at Richardson though before awarding them the game. The very low attendance figures in Vancouver and Edmonton in the last qualifying would really make me worried about the atmosphere in these stadiums if they get a match. I don't want to start another regional spat but cities really have to step up and support the team if they want to get matches.
Guest Ed
Edmonton would only draw say 9,000 or some other absolutely pathetic crowd. Give it all up to Toronto.
PunjabiOil
Edmonton drew 26,000 on a rainy day against T & T. I jumped on the poor showing of Toronto against Costa Rica in September, so I'm not going to make any excuses for the 10,000 drawn against Honduras at CW a few years ago. That being said, I'd hope at LEAST 1 game is played at CW - preferably a better drawing opponent.
Winnipeg Fury
If we can play a late fall game against any of our opponenents, then I would be all for Edmonton. Historically Edmonton has given us great attendance and pure pro-Canada crowds.
Cheeta
Will be at all the Group stage matches in Canada and may have the Wee Elf and/or Little One in tow. Missed out last go around so I'm not taking any chances waiting for The Hex this time. SVG? Not likely but you never know..
Guest Jeffery S.
I am keyed for August 20, a Wednesday, in Toronto. Gian-Luca
Keep in mind MLS doesn't shut down for international calendar matches, so outside of the St. Vincent match which is already confirmed before any MLS matches are, there could be complications in using BMO Field for some of the home matches. Toronto MB
As already mentioned I will be at every game in Canada and at least one of the games in Central America should we get by SVG. When the schedule and venues are released we should definitely begin our biggest grassroots push to date focusing on issues like: - having a seperately ticketed supporters section - organising bus transport from nearby cities - making an effort to publish a basic cheer/song repertoire on the website - developing ways to restrict and minimize the foreign support in Canada I like the idea of a pre-WCQ Voyageurs conference or meeting. Perhaps with seperate meetings organised in some of the major population hubs and then having the news shared nationally on the website. As we get closer, and as we get more info I would love to contribute to some of the organisation. I also work in the travel industry so I would be happy to help arrange anything on that end. Gian-Luca
quote:Originally posted by Daniel Wow, now wouldn't THAT be ridiculous? Well it's unlikely that Canada would be completely shut out of playing at BMO - I was just pointing out that every date might not be available, so there will be even more reason to use other locations. But for Toronto MLSE will want as many game dates as possible so they will likely want to work with the CSA as much as they can on the schedule. And a balanced schedule next season should mean less Wednesday games and I think half the semi-final games are going to be on a Wednesday night. Duane Rollins1555362254
Could a representative of the Vs, U-Sector and RPB please give me an e-mail? We've (CSSU) have done a little back room work on this already. Edited -- Sorry, I was being Toronto-centric. It would be helpful if representatives of supporters clubs across the country e-mailed me too. dgrollins (@) gmail.com

Free kick
For the past 10 years or so, I was expecting that we would make it to the hex. Therefore, saved most of my travel intentions with that in mind. I think that we have missed out on a lot because the intensity, environment, and atmosphere ratchet's up for the Hex. Believe or, I still have recollection's of 1998 WCQ whereby the semi final round was really a given. Not much attention was paid to the semi final round as it was an after thought. But oh how times have changed!. If we ever make it to the hex it would be a shame to have depleted your travel resources in the semi final round. Thats how I view travel to away games and why I chose the trip to Edm last time around as opposed t going to CRC.
