ya, the commish was responding to the question of all domestics in MLS being canadian or american. (this won't happen).

but at the end the deputy commish clarifies and says the competition committee is looking at rule changes for TFC.

Sounds like some tweaking will happen.

Steven Goff, the washington post reporter, noted today some rumours from an MLS Cup party.. one of them is that next week some rule changes for TFC will be announced.

With respect to Montreal, in his response to Gerry Dobson's question at the end of the state of the league address, it sounds like the ball is in Saputo's court to make the stadium large enough.

Since the Stadium was built with a plan to expend it it's not much of a problem especially when you see how fast it was built. At that rate it could be expended to 18000 in a month.

It's not the fact that it can expand, everyone knows that, it is the quality of the expansion. Lets face it, the standard of Saputo is below the NSS which is below the other SSS in the MLS.

Please tell me why its so inferior than the NSS? It hasn't been completed! Once you see a match at the stadium i think you would be in a better position to comment on the overall quality.

I don't need to be there. Take a chill pill buddy. I actually love the stadium and the feel a fan will get from it is going to be great. But look at the construction of the North and east stands. Its slapped together. Why do you think its so cheap to build ($15 mill). get over yourself and the blinders you have for the stadium. Outside the covered stand, the amenities are not going to jump out at anyone. Well, maybe the lack of. ;)

Calm down now, just asking for a simple explanation as to your thoughts. Evidently I think i got it loud and clear.

Red Deer Town FC!

:D I remember having insomnia one night and passing the time by trying to present a realistic business case for this. It was fun, but I remember someone actually felt the need to try to punch holes in my not-so-sophisticated "business plan".

Anyways, back to the thread. I have always felt that my level of support for TFC would be directly linked to its' usefulness for the CMNT. I am definitely a "country before club" type. Although I have always believed that the superiority of top Euro leagues over MLS for most of Canada's starting XI meant that TFC's biggest contribution would be its' academy (to help prevent future JDG2 situations), the prospect of ten foreign starters (just a Canadian keeper when Brennan is out) is scary. MoJo should chase after wins, but not at the expense of the club's long-term prospects.
