tarnado1555362291
does this mean the Lynx can beat TFC ?
Alex
By the way Jack Stewart suited up for TFC in the game. If you recall he was released by Real Salt Lake a few weeks ago.
rick titus
Our 2006 lynx team that was together for the last three months would've beat the TFC team that played in Portland. I think every A-league team could've beat the TFC team that played in Portland pretty easily. Too many weaknesses in their backline, and our team speed was much better. Our fitness was definetly better overall than the TFC in Portland as well! I think that loss speaks volumes about the fact that the gap between MLS and A-league is a not as wide as most would expect. TFC with a HEALTHY Dichio, Cunningham, and O'Brien are a much better team, and would've yeilded much better results!
Soju
OK that's embarrassing. Yeah it's a friendly but 4 goals? And seeing how TFC's back line got out-muscled on that 4th goal makes me wonder if these guys have any pressure on them to perform at all. You're playing an "inferior" opponent. Win. The. F******. Ball. Also Boyens cautiously standing yards off his marker like he was marking Cristiano Ronaldo and getting nutmegged for it, ouch.
rick titus
I would've been embarrassed if we had lost 4-1 to anyone with the Lynx. I wonder what Moe feels about all of this.

JPB
I'm guessing that there is more to glean from the absences on the TFC roster than from the lack of goals on TFC's side of the ledger. Any surprises, roster-wise?

Prof
To Rick Titus I have been telling people all year that although the success of TFC as far as marketing and fan support has been tremendous the level of play of the Lynx for all those years was quite comparable but unfortunately did not get the support. My question to you is where did you and the others from last years team play this year. P.S. The last game of last year was very memorable to my son, he got a Lynx ball and jersey and got all the palyers to sign them.
rick titus
Most of the players scattered throughout the A-league, and others went overseas to ply their trade. I stayed with the Lynx and assistant coached with Billy Steele and Duncan Wilde, and I played as well. Could've played with TFC but my biggest problem was Bob Gansler. Bob and Tim Hankinson, my coach in Colorado are buddies, and I did not get along with Tim at all. In any event, I think the Lynx at the end of 2006 would've done well against TFC. We played some great soccer at the end of that season, and I think our fitness would've been superior to theirs for sure. TFC might have won due to experience and having more quality on the wings where O'brien would've gave us major headaches. I've played against Cunningham and I think Arrango or myself could handle him, but that Dichio! He probably would've made the biggest difference! By the way tell your son I said hi, and thanks for the support, nice to know that someone saw us play some good ball!
SeanKeay
Your a bum Titus a BUM!!! Good to see you posting on the board again, i do agree that the lynx at the end of the 2006 season was playing great soccer and a bunch should of gotten the invite to come play with tfc, Arango, yourself, Dodds and Chris Williams definatly would of been able to do well in the league. Its a shame you had to leave the team during training, cause our defencive problems were huge this year. So are you just going to stick to coaching from now on? or are you goign to keep playing? rick titus
I'm finding new ways to increase fitnees and speed without killing myself, and I haven't lost any speed in the last three years. I haven't had any injuries in a very long time, and I feel great! I will definetly continue playing, but I really don't want to leave Toronto to do so. I love this city!!! Hopefully I will get another shot at the MLS somewhere because I really got blackballed by a couple of coaches. Other than that, I love the game, and I'm lucky enough to still be able to play it at my age! If you do go anywhere it would probably be in the U.S. somewhere.
