Guest speedmonk42
I really think that those on strike in Vancouver have lost the right to ever earn a penny of tax money. They have no class. Sure not everyone did it, but the fact that the others have not stood up against this act... well fck them, and fck their union.

analyst
I don't know if a pissed off union member dumped nails on the field, most of us probably think one did because they are pissed off after being on strike for 10 weeks and not getting a paycheque. But, there is usually another side to the story. A week ago there was a newstory about a concerned soccer mom who was trying to get volunteers to mow the fields. Who was that soccer mom - it was Christy Clark, who is not a neutral person. The Mayor of Vancouver is a member of the NPA as is Christy Clark, and the NPA controls City Council. Christy also sought the NPA nomination for the position of Mayor of Vancouver. Christy also used to be the Provincial Minister of Finance. If the NPA cared about soccer, then they would have approved the proposed Whitecaps stadium by now. Christy Clark's intervention was a clumsy political manouvre. The NPA has some real hatchet men, some Karl Rove types in it. I'm sure they would do lots of dirty tricks to make the union look bad.
Richard
There is insufficient evidence to lay blame anywhere at this stage. Somehow I doubt either side in the current Vancouver CUPE strike is squeaky clean.
