I got an e-mail from vee poster "difab" who can't make it due to him playing soccer.

I might be bringing wife and 2 kids.

Sounds good. I'm also bringing the wife ("why are we wearing black?")

and son. Dylan's is very family-oriented, especially when our

event/function ends about 8. If people want to stick around, there's

a "battle of the bands" event for 10 p.m.

(Bring your earplugs for that one; but our black shirts will blend nicely.;) )

A quick thank you to everyone that attended our event

yesterday. There were about 20 of us, plus Free Press'

Jarred Peters.

Our next event will likely be the South African friendly,

which I can practically assure you will not have the shoddy

CONCACAF officiating.

I also hope that no Winnipegger on this board gets drawn into

the attendance debates and regional arguments on the other threads.

We soccer fans are a minority and cannot afford to get divided

in relatively petty issues involving a friendly. Thanks again.

Sadly, I couldn't make this one. Schedule changed, and I could have made it only for the last few minutes. I'm glad there was a good turn-out, though, and I'm hoping to make the next one.

Is the rumoured South Africa friendly a weekend or weekday affair?

Just a follow-up (I'm flying back to Winnipeg tonight) - attending the game was a real treat for me. I got some good photos (I hope) during the match, and was amazingly fun watching our national team play in person. I hope I can attend more games in person in the future as well. :)

I still want to get a "Sack the CSA" shirt, but I'll bug someone about that later.

Cheers!
