Whitecaps vs Minny

The Caps and Minny tied last night before 5,100 fans who were well entertained by the Caps mascot.

Caps scored first on a counterattack, 3 vs 1, with Jordan sending Valente in alone on the goalie. Later in the 1st half, Valente hit the cross bar.

Minny replied during first half injury time, thanks to 3 Cap errors committed by Lyall, Goddard and Kambere, resulting in an own goal.

Minny almost won the game in 2nd half injury time when Martin committed a hand ball in the penalty area, which the ref missed, and 5 seconds later a Minny shot rang off the goalpost.

The Caps are winless in 11 which prompted well respected commentator Allan Errington to criticize the strategy of playing the ball through the middle of the field and not utilizing the wings. The Caps have dropped to 6th in the standings.

Lenard Bobbaduzzi was not available for comment after the game as he was on his way to Los Angeles to watch Yallop in action.

no doubt...once Yallop is sacked I have a feeling Lilley will be too.

I think Lilly will be sacked before Yallop, although there are rumours that Jurgen Klinsman will be the new Galaxy Coach within a few months and Yallop will move to San Jose where he'll head up the expansion team.

Colin Miller would have been the logical choice as next in line in Vancouver, but I think he's doing just fine at Derby County.

Lilley's three year contract expires at the end of this season. There have been no reports of any extension negotiations.
