Canadians abroad on TV this week

Since soccerTV.com no longer serves Canada, I will no longer be compiling a "Canadians abroad on TV this week" list.

Guidelines for this thread

[*]In this thread post match updates on all Canadians abroad for August 3-10, 2007.

[*]If you find updates posted in some other thread or on the other Voyageurs forum then post them here as well, but be sure to credit the original poster.

[*]If there is news that is particularly significant (eg. someone scores a big goal, someone gets injured, etc.) then feel free to begin a new thread on that topic in order to draw greater attention or start a discussion, but also post that news here.

[*]Some comments on news posted in this thread are okay, but let's not let this thread go off into a long discussion. If the news already appears in another thread (as per the previous bullet) then post your comments in that other thread, otherwise if you want to say something significant or if it is likely to generate replies then begin a new thread.

Stewart, 27, has been second-choice behind Neil Moss for much of his eight years at Dean Court, although he forced his way into the first-team under Sean O'Driscoll in the 2005/06 season.

He has a year left on his existing contract but has been told he is surplus to requirements by Bond, who has been linked with a move for Portsmouth goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

IRISH EYES ARE SMILING ON CANADIAN LAD

FC VICTORIA PRODUCT ON FIRE IN PRE-SEASON FIXTURES

Sheffield Wednesday Owls are gearing up for the 2007/08 FA Premier Academy League. The league represents the top level of youth football in England featuring teams from the Premiership and Football League clubs.

FC Victoria product, Reid Fraser has lit up the score sheet in the Owls first two pre-season matches on tour in Northern Island. He has come on as a second half substitute in both games scoring goals versus Cliftonville on Tuesday in a 2-0 victory and then scoring the tying marker earlier today versus Linfield, 2-2.

Academy director and coach, Sean McAuley was delighted with the performance of his second half substitutes in todays game. "It was a good game and we played an excellent second half. We looked fit and strong and did well to fight back, we'd have probably won 3-2 had it gone on another five minutes."

Fraser, the 6'5" target player with skill, signed an Academy contract with Sheffield Wednesday through their academy director, Sean McAuley a little over a year ago. The seventeen year old Oak Bay High student is fired up with ambitions to join the senior team in the Championship League one day.

Some Canadians in action in MLS tonight.

Adrian Serioux went the whole way for FC Dallas who won 1-0 at Colorado.

Pat Onstad also played the whole game in goal as Real Salt Lake snapped Houston's unbeaten streak with a 1-0 win. Dwayne De Rosario wasn't dressed. Anybody know about an injury, or something?

Atiba Hutchinson scored for FC Copenhagen who are leading at halftime in Aarhus 1-0. I believe he scored in his last league match as well.

The match is being streamed with the TVU program (www.tvunetworks.com to download) at tvu://51733

Haven't got it to work yet, though.</s> It's working now, though a bit choppy.

1-0 final. Hutchinson goes 90.

Superliga, round 4:

AGF Aarhus v FC København 0-1 (0-1)

0-1 Atiba Hutchinson (21)

Attendance: 13,217

Efficiency was the only difference between AGF and FCK in a rather eventless first 45 minutes. AGF feld cheated out of penalty in the 15th minute by the referee, but it was Atiba Hutchinson scoring by an excellent header only 6 minutes later, assisted by a nice cross by FCK's newly signed Czech Rep. International Libor Sionko.

AGF captain Peter Graulund managed to produce 3 very big opportunities to score in the 2nd half, but FCK got away with all 3 points by showing some excellent goalkeeping and being that bit more efficient, despite actually producing very little in attack and not playing any better than AGF in midfield. So no wonder that Man-of-the-match was FCK keeper Jesper Christiansen.

Jonathan de Guzman is currently playing with Feyenoord against Liverpool and with half time now it's 1-0 to Feyenoord.

De Guzman gave one of the best passes you'll see this season to set up the 1-0 and I'll try to get you a video later.

2nd half was more like a boxing match instead of a Football game but the match ended 1-1 with Gerrard equalising and Feyenoord missing a penalty in the 86th minute.
