jpg75
Champions qualifying draw released http://www.thestar.com/Sports/article/242890 <snip> Arsenal, the 2006 runner-up, also got a tough match when it was drawn against Sparta Prague. (Dave Simpson) <snip> UEFA Cup holder Sevilla will play AEK Athens, (Tam Nsaliwa) <snip> Benfica will meet Copenhagen (Atiba Hutchinson) or Beitar Jerusalem... The 16 third-round qualifying matches will be played over two legs on Aug. 14-15 and Aug. 28-29. The winners will enter the draw for the lucrative group stage on Aug. 30. Looks like a tough draw for all Canucks involved...
canso
Will Freddy be playing for Benfica? I'd say "kick im Hutch" but he doesn't play like that.
Bertuzzi44
yikes very tough draws for all the Canucks' teams. Last season FCK had to beat out Ajax to get into the group stage. So (if they beat Beitar Jerusalem), is it Benfica this year? Or do will they have to beat another team after them to get into the group stages? CanadianSwede
If FCK beats Benfica they will advance to the Group Stage. I think FCK can do it if they get their act together even though some key players from last years CL such as Linderoth will not be playing. But FCK has Hutchinson! I have a friend from Copenhagen who tells me that Hutch is huge over there. I asked the question if he would be recognized in the streets, and he said he probably would. Don't think that would happen in Toronto. Cheers
