john tv
What I am hoping for is that Beck's wife will be in the MLS booth which is a row behind me. I could sell these tickets for a ton of money if correct.I know at opening day the MLS big boys were right behind me.I mean less than arms lenght. If she is coming that is! But your ticket isn't worth any extra. [8)]

Free kick
If today's practice is any indication, it would be a huge surprise if he set foot on the pitch tmrw during the game. While the whole team was scrimmaging and doing various drills with and without the ball, Beckham's training consisted of 10-15 minutes of jogging followed by 20 minutes of treatment by therapists and milling around near the sidelines almost by himself. Must be noted however, there was no hint of a limp or injury when he was running.
john tv
I really screwed up big effen time. Here I was standing next to Craig Forrest,on the stage Beckham and Frank Yallop. What I should have done is to take that mike and asked Craig to join these two on stage. Introduce them as two Canadian Icons who both were inducted into Canada's Soccer Hall of Fame and than ask Beckham to talk about his memories playing against these two famous Canadians. The media would have loved that great Canadian soccer story story and Beckham's remarks and pictures. As a follow up a question about Owen . Anyway it is not lost yet.Maybe we can arrange that picture tomorrow. What a great Canadian story,Stupid effen me!. I did tell Frank as well as Lallas that we have these Red Patch Boys who rented these busses and be ready for a lot of razzing. Great they said, they loved the idea and thought that this showed how far this thing has developed in Toronto. They are fully aware and are really looking forward to the game. lalas did say that the turf creates a lot longer recovery time. The media turn out was phenominal but I did not recognize any high profile rep from the major printed media .Gerry Dobson was there. No George Gross or even Alfons or Dick Howard. Other than that at least 35 TV cameras and many other photographers. Some Americans knowing that Beckham would not be playing said it was time to go home. David was extremely charming very honest and at no time ever gave the impression of not being that sincere. He said to be looking forward playing at least 5 years if not longer. He said to be very impressed with Toronto from what he seen sofar. Did take some pain killing needles shots when Real played in the final game. Never done that before he said, but he really wanted to win this thing. Family comes first while the paparazzi were a pain and started of with about 45 cars following him and his wife. Now down to about 25. The injury was very real and he expects this to be healed in about 1o or so days. It is his left ankle and that creates the problem knowing how he kicks that ball, with a lot of pressure on that ankle. Great guy, great turn out and all that while his coach is Canadian,David did say that he had the utmost respect for Frank, he was a very good coach and that the team spirit under Frank was as good as he ever had experienced. He really seemed to like Frank yallop a lot. Now here is the killer, I knew there was something very special about David, well here it is, David's father is a kitchen installer. I knew it "only kitchen guys' go to the top. I wonder if he is looking for a job.

I'm also looking forward to August 23. That's the date that the idiotic MLS schedule makers pitted the Galaxy to play Chivas USA in Beckham's first MLS game at the Home Depot Center. It's also on national TV. OH, but one slight problem: England plays Germany on 22 August! So Becks will miss that game too... hehe... [^]

Rujulus
quote:Originally posted by jonovision Is this a prediction? Yah, if they 7 injured starters don't play, however, going by previous games, Mo will play a couple injured guys, risking exacerbating the situation. Grizzly
quote:Originally posted by shaku_bert How do you get into these events, John? Are you some kind of canadian soccer royal family member? The Inside Scoop from the Voyageurs Gossip Columns. In 1940, Princess Juliana, the mother of the present Dutch queen, Beatrix, took refuge of from the Nazi invasion of Holland in Ottawa. It is rumoured that while walking by the Ottawa river, Juliana fell in love with a lumberman of Irish, Indian and French Canadian descent. An illegitimate son was born and raised in a forest log cabin until the war was over before being whisked back to Holland under deep secrecy. While not the first born of the Princess this son was the first male and thus had a claim on the Dutch crown. To avoid conflict concerning the throne this son was later shipped back to Canada in great secrecy. Could this Dutch royal be a member of the Voyageurs? Is there a King John amongst us? Is there not only a anti-soccer media conspiracy but a conspiracy to rob the Dutch throne of its rightful heir?

Rujulus
Craig reading the caption "Marco Reda, 22yo" & telling us how he's got a long career ahead of him. Lol, he must've been 14 or 15 years old when I saw him play for the Lynx then.
