The core of this team should be our 2005 U-20's plus some guys of the 2007 team and some new faces I would guess. I think we should have a good team by CONCACAF standards but that's if everyone is available and if the teams get decent prep compare to the other teams in their group. Also, I think there's only 2 spot for CONCACAF, it will be a tough one but the 2005 team won their group in Honduras, so they could be capable of qualifying. Our chances, I say 40%. rodfern2007
I'd say slim to none actually, when you consider what we are up against - Mexico, USA, Costa Rica, and the inneptitude of the CSA, who somehow manage to screw things for Canada every time. It wouldn't surprise me as well if the women's team also suffer a similar fate (remember 2004 anyone?).

Guest Jeffery S.
Since athletes are not allowed to kiss each other in victory or celebration at the next Olympics, in line with that nation's radical intolerance, it is probably better if our passionate Canadian sides do not qualify. Soju
That's just the tip of the iceberg. Women with "wide bottoms" cannot present medals, and all medal presenters must have simliar "presentable" bone structures. Taxi drivers can't have facial hair or long hair, the list goes on and on. Good times.

rodfern2007
Like that matters. But I guess we will see. Will any of these games be on TV?

I doubt it. Just a quick word on the Olympic tournament: I know a lot of people look down their nose at it, but, to me, from a soccer development in Canada standpoint, it's the second most important tournament we could qualify for. It would receive tremendous exposure during the games. I'd be willing to bet that a Canada soccer game would be the feature event of the day on the broadcast. And, yes, we could qualify. If we have a full roster there would be no reason to think that we wouldn't be, at worse, the fourth most talented u-23 team in the region. Upsets happen. I, for one, would L O V E to be watching Canada play at the Olympics a year from today....
