Marc
Three-year contract: I translated this from a Dutch site. Borussia Mönchengladbach for coming season with Rob Friend have reinforced themselves. The Canadian attacker signs a three-year contract signs. Later today Friend will join themselves at the selection of Gladbach in Austria where the club is at present on training camp. A medical testing was already with success passed through. 26 the person whose birthday it is Friend had stood just since the summer of 2006 under contract at SC lord peat. Friend happened of Norwegian wrecked and had in Friesland still a contract up to and including the summer of 2010. The last half year was let the player to Heracles Almelo that the peak hours gladly longer to itself would have wanted bind. It is how much money unknown lord peat receives for the attacker. The coach of Gladbach is our compatriot Jos Luhukay. Patrick Paauwe summer earlier this was also already attracted by the club. Gladbach degraded last season to the second Bundesliga and want this way rapidly at the highest level return.
frank
Then we will have a very interesting game at the first game day in the second league. 1. FC Kaiserslautern with Josh and Patrice against Rob´s Borussia. One week later both Canadians will face Nik Ledgerwood and 1860.
Saviola7
Bah! Heerenveen is my favourite club and I was hoping he'd get back into the fold. Oh well, hopefully they promote because I personally beleive the Dutch eredivisie is a higher level than Bundesliga 2.
El Hombre
English Confirmation: SkySports Borussia secure Friend deal By Kent Hedlundh - Created on 2 Jul 2007 Borussia Monchengladbach look set to sign Heerenveen striker Rob Friend on a three-year-deal. The Canadian international will fly out to his new side's training camp in Austria to finalise the deal and commence training. The move ends Friend's one year stay at Heerenveen, whom who signed for in 2006 from Molde. Meanwhile, Monchengladbach have also been boosted by the news that Danish goalkeeper Kasper Bogelund has snubbed the advances of FC Copenhagen, in favour of staying at the club, despite their relegation from Bundesliga. The Beaver
I think Germany is a great place for our lads to develop, and hope we see more of them push into the first Bundesliga soon.
Grizzly
Moenchengladbach was relegated last year and will play in the 2nd BL. This may be a short step backwards to go forwards as the 2nd BL level might be a bit under that of Holland but Moenchengladbach is a bigger team than Heerenveen and is usually a mid-table 1st BL club. They would be one of the favourites to promote next year. The contract is for 3 years plus an option and the transfer fee is not being released by either club. Also according to the club site, Friend is currently very tired because he has recently played in the Gold Cup, is suffering from jet lag, has just got married and had a 10 day honeymoon in Tahiti. I think it is the latter that may be the main cause of his fatigue!
frank
Mönchengladbach still has a good name in german soccer, they have a fantastic stadium, great fans and of course great success in the past. It´s a team that belongs to the Bundesliga. So it might be a good place for Rob. But now he needs to forget honeymoon and holiday, hard work is announced But it´s very hard this year in the second league, there are a lot of good teams with one goal, promotion. But perhaps we have finally 3 teams with canadians playing Bundesliga next season, FCK, Bor. Mönchengladbach and 1860 By the way Nik Ledgerwood started and scored again for 1860 in a friendly game yesterday

frank
There I have another funny story for all those who don´t like the FC Kölle... Last week they signed nigerian international Tico, he signed for 2 years. Last monday he signed another 4 year contract with FC Zurich. Now they don´t want hin anymore. Pekka Lagerbloom who should play this position also left for Alemania Aachen. Playing the number 6 is the most important position in modern soccer, at present they don´t have any... It was wishful thinking that FCK, M´Gladbach and 1860 will promote. It´s gonna be a hard year as a lot of teams have this wish. There is also a dark horse, comming from the 3. League and having Billionare Dietmar Hopp as president, it´s TUS Hoffenheim...
Desigol
They were once a top team in Germany. Maybe they can gain promotion.
