nolando
He was a large part of his team Yokohama FC's place in the bottom of Japan's first division, and it looks like he didn't fit it at all. So TFC can still sign him if they like - any chance he will land in the MLS? Wanchope departs FC Tokyo Kyodo News Former Costa Rica striker Paulo Wanchope has left FC Tokyo, the J. League first-division club said Saturday. The former Manchester City striker signed with the Gasmen last December, but was unable to fit in and failed to win a regular place in the starting lineup. Wanchope, 30, scored two goals in 12 league appearances for FC Tokyo. His last appearance was in the 1-0 defeat at home to Nagoya Grampus on May 26. http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/sj20070701a2.html
KAS
I fully respect his talent, but TFC doesn't need any more strikers. It is not a weakness and they just signed another one. Besides that, Wanchope would be in heavy demand and expensive. That is asking alot for someone with a history of injury problems. I think he is a very old 30. nolando
http://sports.yahoo.com/mls/news?slug=txmlsconfidential&prov=st&type=lgns The Chicago Fire is still working to tie up a deal to bring in another striker having been linked with former Costa Rica international Paolo Wanchope. Earlier this week, Fire GM John Guppy was quoted as saying the deal was 99.9 percent done, but the team was still not in a position to make an announcement Wednesday. Wanchope, 30, worked with new Fire coach Juan Carlos Osorio when the pair were at English Premier League club Manchester City together, and the striker - known for his sometimes dazzling, sometimes baffling skills - is available after being released by FC Tokyo at the end of the Japanese season. Tony Sanneh is also linked with Red Bulls. Vitually every team in the MLS seems to be getting high profile, top-level experienced players at the moment. Why are TFC sitting back and spectating? Are they satisfied with the full-houses and decent TV numbers despite the poor on-field product?

Soju
I hate Wanchope for jealous reasons. He's class. I'll never forget that ridiculous goal he scored against us in qualifying. He showed up in Germany too.
