What if the scenario had been different?

What if Canada was up 2-1 and the US tied the game with seconds left on a close (non)offside? Does the AR's flag go up? Would he dare do that? If it did go up would the Ref then have reversed it? Can you imagine the outrage from the American team, fans and media? Then and only then would things change. This is first and foremost USA's Gold cup. The US and Mexico are Concacaf's star performers not Canada. Canada is unfortunately out in soccer hinterland with no clout whatsoever and very little money and no one at the CSA willing say anything other than the politically correct. Good for Hart for speaking out. As De Rosario said after the match "When you play teams like U.S. and Mexico you are not going to get calls, you have to beat them straight up"

Even worse, what if this game was played in Mexico city against the Mexicans and some Concacaf ref called off a last minute game tying (legitimate) goal by Mexico to knock them out? The officials wouldn't make it out alive and there would of been a riot. The answer is it wouldn't happen. Those officials Concacaf careers would be over. They know which countries to err on the side of. You can't screw with the US or Mexico in Concacaf, but you can any of the other countries.

None of those two scenarios are possible, so thanks for point them out. Archundia would have waved off his linesman saying the ball was played back by a defender. And the goal would have stood.

I have absolutely on doubts about that.
