Soju
We all talk about it but who's playing? What's your team called? Where do you play? What position do you play for them? How are you boys doing this season?
El Hombre
Lynwood Hammers - I play left outside mid or up front. Won two and tied one. Do you get a chance to play in China?
Kurosawa1555362267
I work for Transcontinental Printing in St-Hyacinthe, we don't play in any league but we are training for the corporate tournament in mid-July. Last year we had two 0-0 draw and a 2-0 defeat, we hope to score a goal (only one goal in three years) and win our first game ever.
Alberto7
Playing pick up games Sunday mornings at 11 AM(This Sunday will be the fourth game). So far turnout has been disapointing but I am getting to run a lot and scoring a few goals. I have played mainly right forward.
Cheeta
SWB (No joke, Smooth White Balls). Mixed rec league out of the U of M. Haven't played squat this year as we've already been rained out a couple of times (trying to save the pitches). Play the midfield destroyer/linker role, gimpy knee and all. Got a couple of greyhounds up top so we do alright. Won the league playoffs last year after finishing 3rd overall I think. Loads of fun. Pretty competitive sometimes actually for a rec league. Soju
I play for the Beijing Scorpions twice a week. There's actually a good international scene here for amateur players, get the odd ex pros passing through as well. We lost our first match but picked up 5 wins on the bounce and look pretty good now. I play left mid.
JamesW
I play in a U-16 House League. I play left and right midfield and 'keeper. We are 2-2-0 to start the season. Well not really a beer league team but sure as heck it is Amateur!
River City
Div 4 in Edmonton. Won 2, lost 4 although two of the losses were for late registration of the team since the other co-owner decided to give up on the team while I was in Guatemala. Next week we play 3 games (Monday/Saturday/Monday) and will get 6 guaranteed points since we play the two bottom feeders. The saturday game should be a good one. canso
Beaches FC, the original FC in Toronto. They've got us playing on a cow patch under the Hydro lines in Scarborough this year. I anchor the back line and play keeper when needed, we won our first two by blowouts, got overconfident, lost the next two by the odd goal in 3. argh1
I don't play, but I run the sidelines or the field in a stupid yellow sweater and black shorts, All though I'm getting older and slowing down so I try to stick to U-16 or lower. But I see NBSRA has me scheduled for some U-20 and Senior games, gonna have to pass those on []
Soju
You get much abuse as a ref/linesman?
Saviola7
I play keeper for a Lugdunum VV. I just switched clubs, but I'll probably be playing for the lowest reserve team in the lowest amateur division.

argh1
quote:Originally posted by Soju You get much abuse as a ref/linesman? Not really, but I've been officiating hockey and ringette for years, compared to soccer. Maybe the abuse. I prefer to look at it as frustration. Players vent, whatever, it rolls off my back. Game on..... Fans parents, same thing let them vent and respond calmly. Golden rule applies in all parts of life.
Soju
That's good to hear. I often wonder why amateur refs even bother, it can't be for the cash. Unsung heroes.
