RoEnergie Cottbus are set to carry out ground improvements at the Stadion der Freundschaft in time for next season.

The work has been deemed necessary since the club have avoided relegation from the Bundesliga.

Although the overall capacity of 22,450 will remain the same, the North Stand will be given a roof while former standing areas will be converted into seating with extra standing room to compensate the loss added to the corners.

Meanwhile, second division champions Karlsruhe must improve their Wildpark Stadium before being accepted into the top flight.

Undersoil heating will be installed this summer, as is required by German Football League regulations for all Bundesliga sides, particularly to avoid the threat of postponements during the winter months.
