Phil_Ipswich
He's already said he wants to stay, so as long as the work permit issue is fine (and there has been little speculation to suggest it won't be), he'll be staying here. http://ipswichtown.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=911&p=2&stid=8445749 Phil
Loud Mouth Soup
Good for Jaime. I noticed he's been a regular in the starting eleven in 2007, which is great to see.
jpg75
And someone just noted that he is the Most Improved Players this season as voted on by fans. This deal makes sense for everyone involved. Ipswich will eventually make a run at the EPL again in the next few years...
Cheeta
Good news. Really good news. Pretty sure that he'll be able to pull off a work visa to. Would be better to have it sorted out sooner better than later anyway.
Phil_Ipswich
The most improved player award was voted for by the club management incidentally.

Phil_Ipswich
Sorry, wasn't deliberately correcting you, just thought it was an interesting point that it's the management's view of Peters's progress. Earlier in the season the manager Jim Magilton was critical of him as he was always on a PC at the training ground emailing his friends back in Canada. Jim started locking the doors to keep him out! As it happens, a fans' vote would probably have given the same result.

How would you rate him as a Championship calibre player? And what are his prospects going forward, do you see him in the EPL at some point? I'm wondering along these lines to, we've seen at the U-20 level he has the skill and the gaul to change the whole direction of the game but is he going to develope these qualities at the Mens level? If he's getting there then I hope he stays with Ipswich cause if he's developing into the player I hope he is, a geniune star, then they'll get promoted. Phil_Ipswich
He's improving quickly and gaining confidence. A year ago he looked a bit scared to take people on but now he's more self-assured. He still needs to get more crosses into the box and provide more of a goal threat, but for a player of only 20 in his second proper season, he's doing well. And of course, he's very fast. If he continues progressing, then he could certainly make it into the Premiership. Town look likely to receive some significant investment over the summer (possibly news imminently), which may mean that the Blues might make a serious challenge for promotion next season. Phil_Ipswich
Further to the previous discussions, it seems he has agreed to sign the new contract subject to a successful application for his work permit. http://ipswichtown.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=911&p=2&stid=8445859 Phil
