Offenbach were reduced to 10 men in the 19th minute. Simpson got the start and went 90 at left attacking mid. Looks like they went with a 4-1-3-2 formation.

Using Babylon translator i found this in the Kicker match report

Headline: Simpson tanzt und trifft-> Simpson dances and hits

Für das Highlight des Spiels sorgte Simpson.-> Simpson provides the highlight of the match

He hit a volley from halfway to the left top corner of the penalty area...i think [?]

Simpson Dances and Scores would be the translation in this context.

The Simpson goal sounds like the one he scored for us at the U20s. this guys has loads of raw athleticism--sheer pace etc--and if he can develop his technical skills and mental understanding of the game while in Germany, he could prove a vital player for us going forward. Think of the sort of midfield we'd have once these guys mature:

Peters Hutch DeGuzman Simpson

And the same for our back four:

Ledgerwood Edgar Hainualt O'Connor

The big question, of course, is where are our topnotch young strikers?

Friday night the Charleston Battery welcomed the Minnesota Thunder to town in the USL. Ian Bennet started and Jordan Hughes sat on the bench. In the 55th minute that was reversed as Hughes came on for Bennet. In the 70th minute Jordan Hughes put the ball in the back of the net, but it was called offside. Gordon Chin was not on the roster. The game ended in a 0-0 draw.

Imhoff on the bench for Bochum and no Mckenna for Energie Cottbus.

Where did you hear that? I just watched the game on GolTV and watched Kevin McKenna play the whole match. Energie lost 2-0 at Schalke.

My bad, he wasn't on the roster when I checked ESPN soccernet.

Heracles Almelo 3 - 2 Excelsior

Friend scores the second goal for Heracles in the 79th minute. This is Friends 8th goal of the year.

No sign of Lensky, Johnson or Waagner for their respective clubs.

DeJong entered the match for Roda in the 81 minute, while DeGuzman played the full match for Feyenoord.

Final in the Heracles match was actually 3-2, so Friend's goal was important but not the game winner.

Nice to see him finally scoring, with 3 in the last 2 games. I think this late push by Heracles might keep them in the Eredivisie, although from Friend's perspective it doesn't really matter as his loan deal is up at the end of the season and he'll be back in Heerenveen in fall.

It was a battle of Canucks in the Greek Super League today. Tam's, Panionios, prevailed over Daniel's, PAOK Saloniki, 3 - 1. It was a huge win for Panionios, who are now level with 4th place PAOK. Tam played the full 90 mins.

Julian De Guzman plays 90 minutes as Depor win 1-0 at home to Osasuna.

Hainault was subbed out in the 36th minute of a 4-2 home win for Most over Brno. Likely re-aggravated his prior leg injury...

Simpson was subbed out in the 78th as Kladno lose at home 1-0 to Liberec.

Tam is still rumored to be going to AEK but nothing has been confirmed. The Greek press is notorious for making up bogus transfer talk so we shouldn't take anything for granted. So far thirty some players in the Greek league have been linked as possible summer targets for AEK!

Klukowski played 90 minutes as Brugges falls at home 1-0 to Genk.

FCK beat Horsens 3-1 and Vejle won 3-0 at home to Brondby, details on the Canucks to follow later...

Issey was subbed out m. 65, and all of Vejle's goals in this big win came right after. Still will not be enough for them to avoid relegation.

The FCK win had Hutch playing 90 on the right side of the midfield. They must need a win or two to take the title.

See Aguiar did not even dress for Gondomar, who fell away to Estoril and are now 9 back of promotion with 4 games left. Looks like Leixoes, Rio Ave and Guimaraes will be in top flight Portugal next year.
