DarnCherry
quote:Originally posted by Footy Yeah pitty it will have those football lines on it ... Surely they'll do something about that. One concern is that from what I've seen of that turf is that it is barely bigger than the CFL field that is laid out on it. Makes for a pretty narrow pitch. RJB
Surely they could install grass for this game, no?
Footy
quote:Originally posted by RJB Surely they could install grass for this game, no? No I doubt they are going to for this just too much $$$ and I doubt that LA will have a stipulation in their contract (Real Madrid last summer in Seattle) to play on grass as so many stadiums are Field Turf anyway. Footy
I like the fact this game is included in my season ticket package "Tickets for the October 3rd exhibition match at BC Place are included in Whitecaps season tickets and 5-Game Packs." Guest Jeffery S.
Anyone have any info on how much the Galaxy with Beckham would charge for an appearance? As I read yesterday that Galaxy has supposedly made some 13 million US dollars since the signing, and I imagine revenue will be generated in merchandising, promotional stuff, endorsement deals for the club perhaps, as well as this sort of appearance, I am curious to know what they would charge. For a while there Brazil would ask for a million euros, I believe, plus costs, which would often be around 20-30% more, depending on a lot of factors. To make money hosting Brazil you had to sell something like 50,000 seats at an average of 40 Euros a shot, which is not too unreasonable. But would Galaxy charge on the level of Brazil or a top European club (who charge the same or more) just on the basis of Beckham? I think it could be close perhaps, depending on the market (North America or Asia pretty well, including the Middle East.)
