Guest Jeffery S.
Maybe some of those following USL Div 1 more carefully can help me here. I am a bit interested in the new franchise in San Fran as the owner is Dmitry Piterman, the rather psychotic president of Alavés in Spanish 2nd division. I guess I am curious to see what he might do, the players that might appear, the money he may end up spending. Does anyone recognize any of these names, from a squad list for a friendly played recently vs. U Cal? Anyone here better known, any fallouts from MLS for example? Lineups: VICTORY - 13-Caleb Patterson, 2-Matt Fitzgerald, 3-Keil McKlung, 5-Kevin Long, 6-Chris Schwarze, 8-Ricardo Sanchez, 9-Josh Hansen, 10-Mike Muñoz, 11-Omar Aguayo, 12-Hugo Casillas, 15-Ricky Herron Subs: 1-Chase Harrison, 4-Andy Oshay, 7-Yuri Morales, 17-Josh Barton, 18-Matt Langus, 19-Chuck Kim, 14-Estuardo Sanchez Head Coach: Glenn Van Straatum Victory is playing friendlies vs. California teams, has one lined up vs. LA Galaxy on the 30th and is playing the Fiji national team early April. Guest Jeffery S.
quote:Originally posted by Sigma I've heard of Yuri Morales before, but that is about it. Thanks, it is just to avoid having to google up each and every one of them. Morales was at Puerto Rico last year, but is a CAlifornia native. I see keeper Chase Harrison was recently released by Real Salt Lake, just picked up here. General impression is that they are picking up players from other USL teams and MLS flotsam, logical moves. What I was curious about was seeing any players from the Alavés system on the team, or eventually any moves in the opposite direction: Cal Victory as a feeder team for the Basque side. Calgary Boomer
I'm surprised to not see Ryan Suarez (last year with Whitecaps) in that squad. I was under the impression that he was signing with them.
MM2
Mike Munoz - Had a brief stint in MLS (Columbus?) Estuardo Sanchez - Was with Chivas USA last season 18 year-0ld developmental player, only saw reserve action. I think Hansen and Barton both have USL-1 experience
