Beveren (Giacomi's club) and Canadian money

It seems Giacomi's transfer to Belgium was not really for the keeper but for other reasons. Context : Beveren's second goalkeeper (Verhulst) was transferred and the coach, Walter Meeuws, was furious about it. What happened then ? Here's what we can read in a weekly soccer magazine in Belgium date from last Wednesday (Van Hoof is the president of the club) :

“Meeuws bood zijn ontslag aan, maar dat werd geweigerd. Plots zag Van Hoof op de training tot zijn grote verbazing een Canadese doelman verschijnen. Hij paste de puzzelstukken in elkaar en ontdekte de waarheid: hoe Canadese spelersmakelaars zich in de club wilden inkopen. Uiteindelijk bloedde die piste dood.”

“Meeuws offered to resign but that was refused. Suddenly, Van Hoof saw, at his big surprise, a Canadian keeper at the training. He resolved the puzzle and discovered the truth : how canadian managers wanted to buy in the club. Finally, the piste is dead.”

So, no deal. But do someone know who Giacomi's manager are ? Are they Canadians ? They seem to have money to invest in (not healthy) european clubs.
