Yeah, he didn't look too comfortable at times especially on the blunder. He did however save an own goal in the first half and a couple of his defenders didn't help him too much later in the match either. oh well, for a 20 year old it's live and learn... An Observer
Terrible blunder on the first goal, and he also looked horrible on the last goal (probably his confidence was shattered). The other two were probably not stoppable but he didn't look too confident on any of them. Not a very good debut at all.
Grizzly
I thought he looked confident and impressive in the Brazil series. In this video though he is terrible, he doesn't even look good on the shots he stops. Let's hope it was just a case of nerves and that nothing similar will occur in the WC. A performance like that could pretty much sink Canada's chances at the tournament. How do people rate our number 2 guy Monsalve compared to Begovic? I think Giacomi is too old for the U20 WC.

Like G-L said, that was Giacomi, he was our third keeper in Holland in 2005. He's an 86 so, not eligible for this year tournament. Begovic also had a tough 3-4 games in 2005 in the Belgian League. As for Monsalve, I've heard he's a competent keeper, but Begovic would be better.
Grizzly
Ooops. Makes me a little more comfortable knowing that he is not our starting U-20 keeper. Hopefully, Giacomi will bounce back and play better but he had a bad loan spell at Stirling Albion as well which was why Rangers released him. BigBird
That surely is not the Giacomi I know, it seems that he simply was distracted and flat footed most of the times when needed. He will get around it these things happen to the best of young players. How else are they going to learn. Hopefully he come out the next time and show them a few saves or two, and be the player of the match and turn things around for himself.
loyola
Yes, he's still young, and if he can turn this thing around he has at least a 12-15 yrs career ahead of him. But we've got a be a little bit concern about his mental toughness with the reports from Scotland and Belgium, let's hope he can work on this. BigBird
Just reading up on the site or the link above I noticed Giacomi having the second game with the reserves again in losing cause of a score 2-0 last night I trying to looked back on his record since there, and playing in a league matches. I know that the team has not won a game for him and his goals against is high with little scoring on the attacking side. from what i can see 0-5 record 16 goals against and his team scored 3 goals for
Bxl Boy
Begovic was also terrible during his 3-4 games in the belgian league (with La Louvière) Canadian keepers begin to have a very bad reputation

loyola
It isn't fair to judge Begovic on 3 games he played in Belgium when he was 18 yrs old and was sent there for development, not being a starter. His performance with Canada against Brazil wasn't incredible (he looked slow) but he surely looks like he's got a lot of potential and could turn out to be MNT material in a few years from now. Also, the reports from Macclesfield were very positive, just too bad he got injured.
