I removed Augero from the list because I thought he was not eligible to play for Canada. I recall reading the post about Machul, but my understanding is that he is eligible to play for Canada. If he played in a youth match for Poland, he is still eligible for Canada. So what do you guys think? Is he off the list? I took Vitoria off the list cause he seemed like a real trecherous c-unt spouting off in the papers at World Cup. I assumed, rightly I think, that he will never play for Canada. As for Machul, I have no idea. My inclination is to leave him on the list till he disappears or turns 21.

Not that it's a big deal for me but I think case like Machul should be remove from the list until we have a sign that's he's considering a switch to play for us. That's just my 2 cents.

Two little updates:

- Hampton & Richmond Borough is in Blue Square Conference South, which is the sixth level in England:

(Not doing half-bad, either :D Godfrey has three on the season including two in a 4-2 doubling of Bognor Regis.)

- The Nationwide Conference National is now called the Blue Square Conference Premier (officially, anyway).

(Simeon Jackson is tied eighth in the league in scoring with nine goals, but only one other person on the team has scored more than a goal)

Actually he's up to second in the league with 11 and has over half the club's 21 goals.

Can someone get some info's please.

This is from Big Soccer, which is not the most credible of sources, but you never know.

According to IFK fan from Stockholm :

Ali Gerba has been told today that he has no future at IFK Gothenburg and that the club will actively seek a new club for him (likely on the cheap), maybe something interesting for you lot?

If this is true TFC should pick him up for next year.

Power Player Showcase Captain Sign with Hibernian FC of Scottish Premier League

December 10, 2007

(RELEASE) - The Power Player Academy alliance with Hibernian FC of Scotland continues to strengthen. The captain of the Power showcase team, Nik Giannotta, has agreed to sign with Hibernian FC in January 2008, following a two week trial which Nik had with the club in August. Nik has been training with the Power Soccer School since the age of 9 years.

In a recent interview, Alistair Stevenson, Hibernian FC Youth Academy Coach commented: "Nik came on trial in late July having been seen previously at a Power Soccer elite summer camp. Nik trained for two weeks in Scotland and played in two exhibition games, v Hamilton Academical FC and Cardiff City. Nik did particularly well and adapted to the team’s system of play. His level of play compared favorably with his team mates at Hibs. He showed maturity and composure in the game and impressed our youth and first team coaching staff. Nik had a chance to train with the first team and was very impressive in these sessions; this is in part the reason that we are signing him. The plan for January 2008 is that Nik will train regularly and play in numerous games with the U19 and Reserve teams."

The Portuguese set up allowed him (Vitoria) to become the player he is today. Why not give something back? He's not officially declared either way yet. But I have no problems with him wanting to play for the Portuguese Senior Men's team. Although I dont think he'll ever bee good enough, but you can't fault him for trying. His parents are Portuguese too, so its not the same as Jonathan De Guzman.

Riddle me this. Would Vioria ever have develop to the level he is at now playing for the Toronto Lynx or some CSL team? He's had great coaches like Drulovic, and would have never been able to play in the Portuguese 3rd division if not for his Portuguese passport.

Don't blame Vitoria. He's doing the best he can with what's available.

Are you familiar with Steven Vitoria's story? Not having a pro league in Canada is the main reason he left. His Portuguese parents set him up over sees and away he went. If one day he plays for Portugal's national team he will join that ever growing list.

And people on this form will write about it and wrongfully blame him. Just as they did with Hargreaves, Fernandes and just as they will do with Jonathan De Guzman in 2008.

Not having a pro league leads to many players slipping through the cracks.
