Alen Marcina has impressed with New Zealand and John Toner has scored 12 goals at a low level. Any chance we could see them in the Gold Cup or at another time? Did he play against Liverpool when they were forced to qualify for Champions League last season, as I think their frist game was versus TNS? or am I just making all of this up? Ivan Posted January 21, 2007 Share Posted January 21, 2007 Marcina has said that he has been contacted by the National Team, which is obvious since he is currently in Florida at the "B" camp. I watched him on the 'A League' highlight show and he seems to be a poacher, exactly what we need. Whether he can do it at a high level remains to be seen. As stated above, he plays in the Wales Premier League with The New Saints (used to be Total Network Solutions FC). This year he has scored 12 goals for them. He has started in 11 games and been subbed in 2 times. That is almost a goal a game! In 2006 he played in both UEFA Champions League games against MyPa.
