MM2
Players from the six Canadian Super-Y clubs, Ottawa Fury, Toronto Lynx, Victoria United, Vancouver Whitecaps, Abbotsford Fraser Valley, Thompson-Okanagan will represent Canada at the Y-League ODP camp over the next four weekends. http://supery.uslsoccer.com/SYLODP/NationalCamp/160830.html
bettermirror
That's a real shame the 1993 boys from Canada weren't invited. The goalie on the team I coach was named First Team all-star goalie - would have been incredible. But why are the Americans inviting Canadian kids to their ODP? They go first week of Feb. Info on USL website for Super-Y ODP states that they wanted to make this a "North American" opportunity since the Super-Y league is itself billed as a North American league. So, good on the Yanks for letting the Cdn boys in. They will be scouted by US college coaches.
Thistle
My mistake.... Only American '93 boys invited. This is the first time the USL has done this so let's hope the '93s get the chance next year.
MM2
Being developed in Canada, no mention of any interest in Canadian soccer. Our lack of World Cup appearances since 1986 has really hurt Canada's image with our up and coming youth players, and is Pipe's ultimate legacy. http://www.peacearchnews.com/portals-code/list.cgi?paper=44&cat=40&id=813644&more=
