DJT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE LYNX TO HOLD OPEN PDL TRYOUT CAMP Super-Y League Trials Continue in December THURSDAY NOVEMBER 30, 2006 (TORONTO, ON) The Toronto Lynx Soccer Club announced today that they will hold an open tryout camp from December 18-22 at the Oakville Sports Centre. The club will be evaluating high-level amateur talent in preparation for the 2007 season, which will be the Lynx' first in the Premier Development League of the USL, following ten seasons in the USL First Division. Head coach Duncan Wilde will return to guide the Lynx in 2007 and will be looking to identify elite Ontario talent to form the backbone of the team's first PDL squad. Said Wilde, "I am in the process of inviting our Junior Lynx alumni into the training camp, many of whom are now playing with NCAA Div 1 Schools in the US. I would also like to invite any and all other players from throughout the region who have the credentials to play at this level". The PDL is the highest level of amateur soccer in North America and provides a professional environment for elite amateur and college players and is a proven testing ground for players that aspire to reach the highest levels of the game. Further information about the PDL can be found at www.unitedsoccerleagues.com. The camp will take place at the Oakville Sports Centre from 3.30pm to 5.30pm each day during the week of December 18th to 22nd. There will be no charge for player participation but players must register prior to the trials. Interested players should contact Coach Wilde directly at (905) 469-8783 or email resume to duncan@premiersocceracademy.com. Rocket Robin
I wonder if any of the Toronto FC early cuts will make a full day of it and drive from The Soccer Centre to Oakville to try out for the Lynx? There will probably be quite a few young players rejected out of the 1000 trying out for the MLS team.
Rocket Robin
I knew at this level the Lynx would only have eight home games but now the Lady Lynx are down to six (cutting last year's exhibition game). Hopefully the MLS schedule will be out and they can avoid competing directly against Toronto FC. ........................................................................................ nawarr1975
lynx.... they should be CPSL TEAM only , THIS WOULD BE GOOD FOR THEM AND FOR THE CPSL league
jaydog2006
No it would not be the best for the lynx to be a csl team only. 1)They would have had to pay the very high csl expanson fee. 2)They would have to fold the lynx giving up there usl right. You never know the lynx may want a return to the pro loop in the near future. 3)Beeing in the pdl they team will be full of ncaa players ncaa players can not play in the csl. This is the best thing for the lynx the usl and for soccer in canada.
