Daniel
"Tryouts will be on Astroturf and therefore players will have to have appropriate foot attire" Well, they screwed up pretty quickly. No fieldturf available? You'd figure that this would be an ideal opportunity for publicity had they been held at the new stadium.
Soccerpro
"$110+GST+Handling charges" Quite an innovative marketing ploy. Get enough people to try out and you can break even in your first year!
Daniel
To be fair, the 121.50$ gets you a training top and two tickets, so it's not all bad. They need to charge something significant otherwise you'd get the Keay brothers trying out.
Rocket Robin
Even if the stadium was ready, December would guarantee a -20 temperature and possible snow so I could understand why they'd have it indoors at the OSA building.
JamesW
If only I were a few years older... Anyone from this board going to give it a go?

Soju can fill you in on lots of players who think they should be playing for Canada..... LOL!

River City
They should tape it and do a 'Making the Cut' show. Hopefully they can find the soccer version of William Hung and they'll have a smash hit on their hands.
Guest Dave
Rumour has it Luis Rancagua will be trying out. Him and a certain ex-Argentinian, Joey something...
MM2
One (at the time) strange thing I noticed in the release is that the tryouts were open to those 14 and over, now with the announcement that all MLS teams must have a developement program it makes sense. " The MLS youth programs will meet a number of standards, including: The program will be based in the team's "Home Territory" approved by the MLS Board of Governors. (All of Canada for Toronto?) Each team will be allowed one team of up to 18 players in each of the following age groups on its Home Grown Player List: Under-25, U20, U18, U16, U15, U14. Will the teams play in the USL Super Y? (Competition for the Lynx) Do teams have Super-Y territorial rights? DC United and Red Bull New York and several USL Div 1&2, PDL and W-league clubs already have extensive Super Y programs. nolando
If PLF Tom tries outfor TFC, could someone at least ask for our scarves? It's getting pretty chilly these days!

MM2
quote:Originally posted by bettermirror under 25????? must be the "Reserves" No, the reserves are part of the 28 man roster, I guess the U-25 team could be a PDL team or a senior team in a local league.
