The Ref
Taken from www.rhianwilkinsonsoccer.com "I made a slide tackle early in training and grazed a burn down my entire leg. This is another disadvantage of artificial surfaces, and I think most of us will have to lube up our legs for the game. This new turf tends to melt skin and this is painful." Richard
I dunno, when I played rugby natural grass was very good at melting the skin on my thighs and legs too but it was part of the game and we just played on.
canadiankick97
I had a chance to play on some top-class artificial turf last week and it really was quite nice. Obviously I still prefer grass (as everyone does) but I was surprised at how nice it was to play on that stuff, great for a short passing style game. Richard
I think many people are making judgements about FieldTurf from older generation product. The newest FieldTurf surface in BC is in Kamloops and whilst I have not seen it personally, everyone I have spoken to about it has been very positive. The facility has also been inspected and approved by FIFA for first class international games.
