sstackho
Toon warning;Football;Intertoto Cup 110 words 21 July 2006 The Sun 79 English © 2006 News Group Newspapers. All rights reserved NEWCASTLE'S millionaires have been warned they face European humiliation at the hands of a set of Pounds 600-a-month paupers tomorrow. Toon travel to Norway for their InterToto Cup second leg against Lillestrom knowing their hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Cup hang by a thread after the 1-1 draw at St James' Park last Saturday. And Lillestrom's Canadian striker Olivier Occean said: "Newcastle have probably underestimated us. And that can happen when big teams play against lower opposition. They always think it is going to be easy but they get stung. This is what happened." © The Sun, 2006

Blue and White Army
Hampton & Richmond Borough 0 Brentford 1 League One heavyweights Brentford received a scare from Hampton yesterday afternoon, with Elliott Godfrey close to scoring for Hampton. There is actually a full-colour photo of Godfrey shooting in today's (Sunday 23 July 2006) Non-League Paper, page 13. It was Hampton's first pre-season match. Meanwhile, Worcester City yesterdat played what was already their fourth pre-season match, but it sounds like Justin Thompson hasn't featured much (or at all) thus far. Not sure if it's an injury. Grizzly
Hirschfeld played 90 as Start beat Rosenborg 2-1. The second goal was unstoppable but he didn't look good on the first even though the player was in alone the finish was poor and Hirsch should have reacted better. Judging from the highlights he seemed to have a pretty busy match and Start seems to have really dominated Rosenborg. sstackho
Serioux still ailing By Bernardo Fallas, Houston Chronicle Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News 200 words 26 July 2006 Houston Chronicle (KRTBN) English Copyright © 2006 KRTBN Knight Ridder Tribune Business News Jul. 26--Don't expect Dynamo center back Adrian Serioux to return this week. The defender, who had surgery last month to repair a fractured left toe suffered May 13, will miss tonight's game at the Colorado Rapids and likely Saturday's against the New York Red Bulls. Serioux hurt the same toe Friday. "He went in for an X-ray and it came back negative," coach Dominic Kinnear said. "We're taking it day by day." Serioux has missed nearly 10 weeks and 11 matches since the injury. The Dynamo are 4-1-6 in his absence. Switch for Waibel Because of Wade Barrett's one-match suspension stemming from a red card, right back Craig Waibel will switch to the left side tonight against the Colorado Rapids. "We're about to unleash a secret weapon," Waibel said jokingly. Barrett's position is usually filled by Kevin Goldthwaite, but the left back is unavailable with a high quadriceps strain in his left leg. Kelly Gray will replace Waibel on the right. ----- Copyright © 2006, Houston Chronicle
loyola
Great start for Atiba Hutchinson in the Champions League as FC Copenhagen won 2-0 against MyPa (Finland). I would think Atiba played is usual 90 minutes in the midfield.

Guest Jeffery S.
McKenna played 61 vs. At. Madrid for Energie Cottbuss as they came back mid 2nd half to tie the Spanish side 1-1 at home. Seems like the team is in good form. Atletico goal from teenage Argentine phenom Agüero. This was Wed night I think.
