I believe Matt goes on Mon. and Shaun on Wed. And to answer an earlier question Matt already has his Dutch citizenship. He is a dual citizen. Best of luck to both of them. Do you know where their hearts are as far as national teams go? Would they play for Canada if asked? If you don't know, will you see them before they leave and be able to ask? Do they know about this website, and that Canadian soccer fans will be following their progress? Sorry to pester you, but with the loss of Hargreaves, and worries about JDG2, it would be great if Canadian fans could find out at an early stage whether these two could ever be considered for the Canadian team should they continue to improve and become great players. bettermirror Posted July 27, 2006 Share Posted July 27, 2006 fishman: some coaches simply desire different qualities - calling him average may have been uncalled for, but it is fair to say most coaches see each player differently. maybe he wanted someone to move the ball quick, and saiko didn't? maybe he wanted a free kick specialist? maybe a long ball artist? you never know. Bate certainly isn't "daft." (well, except for his abrupt exit, but understandable considering he was an administrator and not a coach as he was told he'd be). I've never specifically asked them about their national team aspirations, so anything I say is purely speculation, but I think that given an opportunity to play for the Canadian National Team they would jump at it. As stated earlier they are part of the NTC and regularly attend camps. As for seeing them before they leave I'm not sure if I will, perhaps next Tues. I'll let you know.
