Gian-Luca
IIRC, Concacaf asked Canada to withdraw to allow Jamaica to play in the tourney as preparation for their apperance in the 1998 World Cup. Canada agreed and in return Jamaica promised to play Canada in a friendly also prior to the World Cup. Jamaica then subsequently reneged on the promise and that friendly didn't happen, though the two teams played at Varsity the following year with Canada winning 1-0 on a goal by Jim "Angus" Brennan (so now nicknamed after today's Soccer Central interview where he reveals that ACDC is his favourite band).
