bmac
One of the advantages often cited by proponents of more games in Edmonton [including this poster] at Commonwealth Stadium may be in jeopardy. There is a "throw-away" line in an article from Friday's Edmonton Sun that predominantly concerned changes involving the Eskimos' management which reads as follows, "Although there will be no change this year, LeLacheur admits that the sacred grass field at Commonwealth Stadium could be replaced with innovated field turf similar to Clarke Stadium's surface in the future.". trueviking
that would be typical of the 'vinyl siding' mentality in canada...quality means nothing as long as there are no maintenance costs....imagine a country as large and wealthy as canada without a single grass field. Franky
we are in a pretty sad state, all venues consisting firstly of a carpet, now to fake blades of grass. grass is always best.
DoyleG
Interesting to see how city council would think of this.

Surely if Canada National Soccer Park in Toronto can have plastic grass, why not Edmonton? It's not like the CSA will use Commonwealth once Pogey Park is built, if the Samatha Fox 80's tour isn't booked.
